I like Dave Allen, the lad will fight anyone - might not beat everyone but will always have a go.
Thought Josh Buatsi might've gone some rounds last night with someone that got into 7th against Yarde. He might be ready for UK/Euro title in next fight, probably ready for fringe World level by end of 2019.

Dave Allen’s a top man - to beat him speak in interviews so realistically about where he is and his future prospects is really refreshing.

He also mentioned last night that hes two or three fights away from being a millionaire, which really shows how good a promoter Hearn is. That someone like Dave Allen could be a millionaire... why any British fighter signs elsewhere is beyond me.

Buatsi will demolish Yarde if they meet. Burton is a logical next step, see that being a tough fight but Buatsi’s class showing through.

Hearn put Allen in with Whyte and Ortiz, shocking matchmaking, those fights should not have been sanctioned. He's already had what 3 beatings, one more and it's likely career over?

Why was there no report on the Buatsi fight? Nothing much to report but I’m surprised more hasn’t been said about Yarde taking 7 rounds to finish him. Averlant didn’t look in shape.

            Burton Buglioni rematch please!

Looks like we will see Burton v Buatsi on the Whyte/Chisora card or sooner.

Well he took Ortiz 7 rounds and Whyte 10, so they weren’t the worst mismatches were they? Not to mention Allen’s better now than he was then, so it doesn’t appear to have done him too much harm.

Establishment fights for high level prospects happen all the time, someone has to be the Allen, Gavern or Dallas for every Ortiz, Wilder or Joshua out there.

My point is to make someone of Allen’s talent a millionaire, to have 9,000 people chanting his name, to have him moving toward British and Commonwealth titles... I don’t think Allen will have any complaints.

You're right. Allen will probably never be world champ and he knows it. The lad's just happy getting paid for a decent scrap, and will have a go against anybody. Not everyone can be a world, regional, or even domestic champ; and those that can be need the Dave Allen's of the sport to help achieve their goals. When all's said and done, if you're level is that of a Journeyman, you may as well be a popular and well paid one which Allen epitomizes. I would like to see him win a meaningful title at some point though just to see his reaction, as he is one of the most emotionally open boxers out there; he's definitely capable of winning the British Belt.

Errr no he didn't, I don't believe Hearn wasn't Allen's promoter for either and when he was asked before the fight he said he wouldn't have put Allen in with Ortiz if he was his promoter. Its not Hearns fault if Allen accepts the fight and they were good fights for the shows in both Allen gave a good account of himself. hearn signed up Allen on the basis of the Ortiz performance and made sure he got some property bought withe wiinings he earned rather than feed his ******** addiction. Finkel would have stolen his money and left him in hospital with the bills like he did to Briggs.

If you want to see some mismatches on paper look at most of Wilders fights and Furys last two,
