Tete was never that good to begin with. I said it before, I don't know why and how people started to hype him up.
Other than Inoue nobody at Bantamweight is that good. Rodriguez is still unproven. His only decent opponent was Butler and Tete did a better job with Butler.
Bantamweight is just not a very good division.

Aloyan was a good amateur, but even as an amateur he was already fading and he comes in and gives Tete, the supposed master boxer, a tough boxing match in only his 5th pro fight.

Yes but I have no idea why people want to see a Tete Inoue final. At all. Search his name, he gets spoke of in hushed tones as some sort of boogeyman everyone is avoiding, not just the WBSS.

Inoue is phenomenal, basically the perfect fighter except for when he gets KTFO soon because he leaves his chin up. So OK, not totally perfect, lol. But he's in the conversation for the most power P4P in the whole sport, as well as the most hand speed P4P in the whole sport or at least close, as well as the most skill P4P in the whole sport... well, not defensive skill, or slick skill like Lomachenko, but let's say more like Pacquiao kind of skill... the point is, he has top skill not just for his weight, but P4P wise.

In other words, P4P is always a complex conversation, but if you look at Inoue's weight, it's not like he's the most powerful, or the fastest, or the most skilled, he is ALL those things. People should be respecting Inoue's talent more P4P wise but I think part of the reason he's underestimated is that his career has been poorly promoted so far. He should not have skipped the division where he could have gotten the most recognition. I know it wasnt planned and he just outgrew 112 and 115 at basically the same time, or very quickly before he could get the other champs to fight him, but that's why there should have been more planning ahead of time. If Inoue had knocked out Rungvisai at 115 before moving up, he would be getting the recognition his talent deserves. And clearly they are not ducking Rungvisai because I think they tried to fight him and regardless, they moved up to 118 and will soon move to 122 Im sure, so he is not scared of these guys. And really why would he be? Inoue would beat up Rungvisai. Inoue is bigger, faster, hits as hard maybe harder, slicker. Rungvisai might have more skill or at least experience in the pocket for things like chin tucking, but is Rungvisai really big enough to KO Inoue even if he hits him on an untucked chin? Inoue traded with Mcdonell who hit him pretty clean on the chin during an exchange when Inoue didnt see it and Inoue took it very well. Does Rungvisai hit harder than Mcdonnel? P4P wise he does but when you factor in size difference, Im not sure. Mcdonell is a 122 pounder really, Rungvisai 115, so I doubt it.

I mean, maybe Mcdonell was so weight drained or hurt, that his punch didnt have power on it, but on the other hand it was only the 1st round so he was fresh and powerful stamina wise, and Inoue ran right into it while throwing his own punch, but still little damage.

So yeah. Inoue is fantastic, best offensive fighter I have seen since prime GGG and more versatile (once GGG lost speed and power with age, he became extremely vulnerable to fast opponents. Inoue is naturally so fast, and he slips and counters much more in the pocket, that he will still be elite even if he loses some speed with age. That doesnt mean he in his prime is better than GGG was in his prime, just that he has a style that will last longer).

I'll say it again. Inoue will win this tournament with ease. Luis Nery is the only real threat to Inoue at bantamweight. If Nery can keep his weight under control and stay away from the PEDs, that will be the ultimate bantamweight showdown.

Judging from last few fight's the weight drain is starting to catch up on Tete. At this rate he won't get past the semi's. Who's side of the draw is he on?
