The height difference between the two is pretty much the same as it was with Mikey Garcia and Easter. The fight could unfold in a similar manner too, with Crawford being simply too good. But there's another comparison in play here that goes back over 30 years. Donald Curry was an elite pound-for-pound claimant like Crawford, undefeated like Crawford, and was at the time preparing to make the jump to middleweight to challenge Hagler. There were those who thought he could actually pull it off. Like Crawford, he had an undefeated challenger to contend with first, and the challenger Lloyd Honeyghan also came in undefeated like Benavidez is tonight. Honeyghan said, "I'm gunna smash his face in." Nobody believed him but he jumped straight on on Curry at the bell, stayed on him and made the Cobra quit after six rounds. Benavidez is now talking that exact same chit. If he has the will to bring it like he says and gets active from the off with those long levers this could be a lot more exciting than the betting odds suggest. A proper fight.

Like you said, this should be a "proper" fight for as long as it lasts....fights like these are what boxing is all about: confident fighters "calling out" and "accepting" each others challenges. I'm sure you know Sugar Ray & Ali (and all the greats before) used to "show up" at their opponents gym while they trained in order to play mind games. If Jose doesnt realize that these are already decades long established tricks - to get opponents off their A game, then he's in double trouble against Mr. Crafty....

I love his confidence...the question is how many rounds will it take for Bud to beat it outta him?!?...Bud by TKO in a good fight...especially early but it will turn into a ass whooping in the middle rounds and that’s when that CONFIDENCE he has right now might start to vanish with his chances of victory...keep that same energy Jose lol

Say what you want about Jose but he's carried the promotion on his back and this could do big numbers, probably Bud's biggest on ESPN. This fight on paper wasn't that interesting but I'm pumped for it now.
