Why did people wanted Floyd to fight GGG? That's like Leonard going up to fight Tyson

    Duran fought Hagler at 32.

Floyd would've fought GGG at 39-40.

    Big difference.

This guy is a clown show. I don’t say that because he believes Mayweather could beat Golovkin but because he is a total Golovkin hater. When anything comes out of someone’s mouth is just hater BS they have no credibility.

It was the end of round three of Canelo-Golovkin 2 and he was the only one on this whole site basically announcing how decisive it was already for Canelo. I’d trust Adelaide Byrd to more fairly evaluate anything related to Golovkin than lil’ Robbie.

I’m not one who ever said Mayweather had to fight Golovkin. All this ducking BS is silly to me.

Fair that Mayweather would have been older. Not sure about 40 but clearly in his late 30’s at best.

Duran may have been 32 but how many pro fights vs. what Floyd did? Also how many more wars? I’d say lots more of both. Also guys didn’t take care of themselves the same way they do nowadays (for the most part).

I never understood the obsession with people wanting to see Mayweather fought higher and higher in weight, they claim they don’t rate him but they still want to see him fight out of his natural weight classes. The standard set for him were definitely higher than anyone else

I never thought or opined that Floyd should fight Golovkin because they are different sizes, but saying Floyd is a natural 135lber is just plain wrong - by the time he reached his full 'man size' he was a full blown Welter - smaller than some sure (just as there's some MWs who rehydrate waaay more than GGG) and Golovkin is **** average for a MW - if anything a little smaller than most.

In the end they were two divisions apart by natural size, but since GGG suggested he could come to 154 where Floyd held a title, it wasn't an entirely illegitimate proposition... like you say though, Floyd would have been at a very significant size disadvantage.

On a related note,I never get this thing about fighters who turn pro young getting special credit just for getting bigger - sure if you beat the right guys while you're growing (as Floyd did) then you absolutely should get the credit for it, but getting praises for moving through the divisions just because you're still developing physically makes no sense.

It’s really simple, desperation to see Floyd lose and lose to a white man hence why they skip 154 and Lara. This site has huge racial undertones it really is a shyt hole.

Yeah I mean different eras and it was all different then.

Floyd was 38 when he fought Pac and he wasnt going MW until after that.

Soonest Floyd could've hypothetically gone to MW was 38 (after Pac).

By the way, after seeing Canelo, I'd bet the house a prime Floyd puts on a snoozer against Gennady. Gennady couldn't land consistently enough to hurt Canelo and his power clearly isnt what it was fabled to be as the only full-time MWs to face him had no issue with his power (Danny J and Canelo).

Despite what others say I think if Floyd tried to comeback now against Canelo he'd lose. Similarly, if THIS Canelo fought THAT 36 year old Floyd...I'd still favor Floyd...but it could be fun.

Canelo has looked as good as he has against Golovkin b/c he doesnt have to come forward. Remember that is one of Canelos weakest spots in his game (as with Floyd too). So Canelo chasing Floyd would play into Floyd's hands a bit, but this Canelo is definitely better with traps, feints, and different tactics. He also has a way of landing scoring blows in appealing fashion

                  I agree with this wholeheartedly.

I dont think Lara would've beaten Floyd, but the fight would've never happened no matter what. Lara couldn't sell lemonade with little boys outside a catholic church. And no matter what anyone says...marketability does matter and does influence opposition selection

You've twisted logic. The standards set for Floyd were not higher, on the contrary the standards Floyd set himself were lower. You want Floyd to be as highly rated as duran, srl and Pac, and that is why people want Floyd out of his natural weight class.
Nobody is asking of Floyd that they wouldn't ask if others, and others hadn't done previously. I mean if p a c can be a 8 division titilist why is asking Floyd to fight Ggg being unrealistic and seen as bullying floyd? you didn't need to ask Duran or Pac to step up in weight, they did it all of their own doing nobody needed to pressure them into it. I mean Floyd never fought in someone's backyard before even. So if you don't want to prove yourself fighting in people's backyards then I want to see you win titles in 8, 9 or 10 divisions. If your not prepared to do that then I want to see you travel world fighting in people's backyards. Floyd fans response is to cry at the injustice

So why cw with green nelo? The standards for Floyd are lower than of the higher echelon ATGs. It's all about zero

false perception to say he is 10 times the fighter is way overboard sure he has improved but don't forget not more than 3 or 4 fights ago he was being outboxed by Amir Khan before he killed him

if he had really improved that much he would have not have been outboxed for those 4 rounds now imagine if floyd fought him that night instead of khan you think the result would have been any different to their first match up? of course not

more to the point canelo hasnt face anyone like floyd since so theres no proof he has improved 10 times its just an excuse to discredit floyds win vs canelo remember floyd almost white washed him 12 rounds the gulf in class was huge
