  • Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford Aims For a Showcase Win Over Benavidez

By Thomas Gerbasi - Jose Benavidez Jr. is a good fighter. A 27-0 record that includes 18 knockouts doesn't usually lie, even if it can fib a little at times. But there is no indication that he will enter the ring at the CHI Health Center in Omaha on Saturday night and take Terence Crawford's WBO welterweight title. That's not an indictment of Benavidez. It's more the reality that Crawford will be favored against practically anyone competing at 147 pounds...

Crawford is nowhere near Roy Jones Jr. in his prime. Roy actually fought some good fighters. Had to stop reading after that utter nonsense.

I think everyone is just watching the WW division hoping the top dogs all face each other. Most people are looking forward to Crawford/Spence obviously but any other credible opponent defeated in style adds to their record and to the build up. Still waiting on Porter and Thurman to fight either Crawford/Spence, though Porter has a much better chance of landing that.

When is Crawford going to fight someone where he isn't a 10-1 favorite? This is getting ridiculous

Dudes best 2 wins are Gamboa and Horn lmao and Bud is over 30 and those are his best wins? Are you kidding me..

Crawford is doing OK for his 1st 2 147 fights. Benavidez and Horn are better than Spence last 2 opponents, Peterson and Aztec TV fighter Ocampo. Add that crawford has already defeated 3 PBC fighters. He'll wreck Danny and Mikey GArcia, Shawn Porter and the rest of the stable Haymon has. Spence is the match up. Can't talk about Thurman b/c he isn't interested in fighting anyone at the moment.

'Benavidez is a good fighter' maybe in the grand scheme of things but he's a trash opponent for a supposed p4p level fighter. He's not even in the top 30 on boxrec

Signed to Top Rank and bum ass ESPN... They want da best fights doe . Typical Top Rank bull**** of making bum fights, say you want the best fights, and hope morons say you're being ducked.

He's a ****ing bum for a supposed top p4p fighter to fight. Imagine Floyd or Manny fighting that caliber of bum when ranked top P4P. I use to **** on Rios and Algieri for Pacquiao... then Top Rank said hold my beer and watch us 1 up the bum fest for a supposed top p4p fighter. And ******s act like bum beater hype job Crawford beats anyone .
