WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman is applying pressure on Tyson Fury to hurry up and enrol in VADA testing ahead of his December 1 fight with Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles. The controversial heavyweight has not filed any forms and the organisation has yet to inform VADA of any testing leading up to the event. Sulaiman, whose WBC requires all-rated fighters to sign up to their Clean Boxing Programme, insists action is being taken.

At minimum, signing up to the VADA year-round programme should be a requirement for any fighter wishing to be ranked within the top 15 by any of the boxing organisations. In an Ideal world, every pro fighter should have to sign up, but that may be to lofty a goal straight away.
If it can be guaranteed that anybody who could possibly be granted a title shot through a top 15 ranking is clean then that would be acceptable for the time being until VADA grows, or until other anti doping agencies can provide the same level of testing (with the same banned substance list) to cover more fighters.
