However, it is a truly meaningless belt made only for those sanctioning fees by the greedy WBA fücks.

    1) an explanation that starts with the word " technically " is bullshht

    2) if it is " a truly meaningless belt " then Canelo is OBVIOUSLY not a genuine champion

    champion means..... surpassed all rivals

and Golovkin's bullshht defence record was rubbish as well

I get your point about the technicality, but..... nah, I can't byt it..... just because some corrupt organisation pretends it is true

LMFAO, but yea the Lemiuex fight is looking not so bad now.

Respect on a new belt I guess, but this is a cherry pick belt grab I feel like.

Regardless - here goes - I count GGGs title defenses only for the period that he was either the sole WBA champion or the 'super' champion - 15 defenses in all. I wouldn't consider Canelo to be WBA champ (if - when - he wins) because Smith is already the WBA super champ at that weight and super trumps regular. Nonetheless it is arguably a bold move (or maybe just a very smart one) which will doubtless add to Canelo's legacy even if their are currently tougher opponents at 160.

straight to the top of the class

what I mean is, once I ignored all of the hyperbole and bullshht

the only correct answer required one word, and no explanation

        no, to both

If you're in the Canelo business you got a guaranteed audience for bs fights like this & a nice casual fanbase for the big fights. More value in Canelo's bs fights then a lot of guys' legit fights.

I would think Showtime is the favorite to get Canelo's services with them being the most proven PPV entity in the game now. And I'd make DAZN the 3rd place choice since they don't appear to have any PPV options beyond their regular subscription price.
Canelo is a free agent and if dazn has guaranteed Canelo a big payday !!
watch all the Mexican Americans and Mexicans clamour for DAZN...why would Canelo worry about who is showing the fight if he is getting the proper wonga for it.
Maybe the business model of DAZN has got Canelo dribbling.
The ironic thing is most of us on here search for a good stream to watch a mega fight and not pay over priced PPV...and when a streaming site offers the big fights you then say it's not for me lol
And we are also members of an internet boxing forum not through showtime or HBO lol
          Proper ****ed up

Is it really crazy Canelo is moving to 168, likely just for a fight, to grab a belt vs the weakest title holder? Do you think GGG couldn't have beaten Rocky Fielding?

Also good googly moogly can we have a conversation about GGG without mentioning Canelo or Canelo without mentioning GGG all the time? Some of you guys can't let sh^t go. Manny gonna get into the HOF one day & some BS dork is gonna be like "LOL salt water" like a child.

point is this fight sucks ass and Canelo gets ZERO credit for beating a nobody at 168. period.

this fight is like a youtube ad. its no different than the dog sht fight GGG had vs Vanes. no different. both dog sht.

              who fkn cares ?

FACT: Golovkin only ever held the interim regular junior whatever-that-thing-is, title.....

the reason why does not matter because FACT: there were higher ranked longer standing champions ahead of him

you are LITERALLY throwing a pity-party for Golovkin lol

It's probably going to be a one sided affair, but I'm happy for him. I've kept an eye on his fights since he was an amateur and was glad to see him win a world title (albeit a regular one), and now it's good to see him get a big pay day and fight at Madison square garden.
Yea I kinda look at things like this more now then I used to. This ain't no easy game. So seeing a guy who's a solid enough guy getting a nice career high payday like Rocky is sure to get here IS a win. If he were to somehow actually win the fight is just the cherry on top.

But as a fan of watching fights this type of matchup isn't ever going to be one I'm excited about or looking forward to.

I thought it would be Lemieux in December for sure. Even if to get the WBA mandatory out of the way.
I'm not always sure how these mandatories work, but i read the other day that because the WBC had granted Canelo a voluntary, they miss their go and now the WBA mandatory would take place first.
So, this fight may put a Charlo fight back.. if it was on the cards.
I don't think the ABC Groups know how mando's work. I think they just make that sh^t up like you used to make up lil games with friends when you were a lil kid.

                  Smith

                  Benavidez

considering that fact, would it be correct to refer to Canelo as a 168 "champion" should be beat Fielding.....?

btw, the possible answers are..... yes, or no

the answer to that question is LITERALLY as yes, or no..... as the answer to whether Golovkin's title defence run was legitimate

                  yes, or no ?" -aboutfkntime

Just in case you have him on ignore. He makes great points
I say no. I only consider the #1 title holder as champion. Everyone else is a title holder.

I don't even consider the Super & Original Recipe title holders as a thing anymore. If the #1 guy gots either of those belts he's The Champion to me.
