Whyte claims Luis Ortiz ducked him this past summer

"I offered to fight Ortiz years ago, but he didn't want to know. He didn't even want to know this summer and asked for silly money coming off his knockout loss to Wilder, and made it clear that he wouldn't be ready for July 28, which was the date we had available. Funnily enough it didn't stop him fighting someone else on that day.
Dillian Whyte has laughed off Deontay Wilders demand for him to earn a WBC title shot by fighting Luis Ortiz, insisting the Cuban turned down an offer this year.

Never heard of this. I have heard Whyte and Hearn say there is no point of fighting Ortiz because Whyte would still have to wait until 2020 to become mandatory for Wilder. I also remember Whyte was supposed to fight Pulev and pulled out. Never heard any talk of Ortiz v. Whyte this summer

I saw a Whyte interview at a Parker conference during their build up when he said that he was always going to fight on that date, and that Ortiz had told him he couldn't make the date.

Whyte had a dig at Ortiz for then arranging a fight on the same date. I was surprised more wasn't made of it at the time, although i'm not sure if Ortiz's team every had their say on the claim.

Seems like Dillian has picked up on Hearns bait n switch tactics as well as AJ’s cowardice, which is sad cuz I fancied him a warrior!

Ortiz said he would fight Whyte and he was ready but now Whyte talking about something where Ortiz was coming fresh off a KO loss!

The importance is when both guys were free and the top mandatory spots for the WBC, it was mandated and Whyte dropped out of the rankings when it was legitimately time to fight Ortiz over a average Parker who still nearly stopped Whyte!

Sure, we don’t believe you, you need more people!

Lol what? That makes no sense at all. This was the fight that was called by the WBC as an eliminator and Ortiz was getting ready for the fight and last minute Hearn swooped in with the Parker fight. Fair play to him, but get the hell out of here talking about Ortiz ducked him. Either this guy is delusional as it gets, or his team is feeding him some BS which is certainly possible.
