Wlad thought he was some kind of psychological master, at least until he met Fury...
Yep. You could see already Wilder realizing just how many levels above him Fury is with this trash talk game. And you could be right, it may actually effect his performance... especially if Fury taunts him in the ring during the fight. Which usually happens. This should be a really fun fight, from lead-up to post-fight press conference.

People already know his style is boring, and despite his
size, he is not much of a puncher. That's why he's not
even a big draw in the UK. Nobody is paying attention to
these press events except hardcore fans, and only the
most lowbrow of those are impressed by Fury's behavior.
This fight will sell on the merits of two, huge, undefeated
champions testing themselves against each other to see
who is the best heavyweight in the world besides Joshua.
Fury doesn't draw what Joshua draws, but he's definitely a marquee name in England. And you're wrong, many boxing fans are enamoured with Fury's antics... casual and hardcore. If this is a PPV event, it will sell handsomely in England.

Hasn't kept him from being a marquee name with an undefeated record... so looks like it isn't a liability... at least not so far.

Of course it will sell in England.
English boxing fans have proven to be indiscriminating
when it comes to what they're willing to spend their money
on. I don't disagree that there are boxing fans that are
enamoured by Fury's behavior, but as I said before, only
the most lowbrow boxing fans are impressed by Fury's
antics, and only the most immature fans waste time paying
attention to it. The only thing that matters is what takes
places inside the ring. Boxing is a noble sport, and there is
no need to surround it with undignified extracurricular
shenanigans in an attempt to appeal to more juvenile fans.
Many attempts have been made in the past to cater boxing
towards a younger fan base, such as HBO's 'KO Nation' and
'Thunderbox', but they are never very successful. Boxing
sells based on intriguing matches & exciting fights.
          No foolish ranting is needed.

Fight cards have ALWAYS had trash talk, on various levels. And BTW no one is saying it should turn into Gordon Solie and Andre The Giant insanity. It hurts nothing, puts a lighthearted angle to it, and OBVIOUSLY fans know it's just a side bit to the main course, the fight. Just like round card ladies aren't the main draw, ring intro histrionics... all the stuff like that. OBVIOUSLY that isn't what the fans come to see. But fans do enjoy those parts of the event that are traditional for a boxing event, and make you feel like you're at a boxing event. I suppose next you'll say fighters shouldn't have sponsors on their trunks, and no sponsor signs and sponsor plugs during announcements. Geez, lighten up bubba. It's an EVENT.

It is actually bringing the "fun" back into boxing. Both guys are playing their part and bouncing off each other. It's a different dynamic than what were used to. If Deontay wants to get mad and ******, Tyson will get even madder and ******-er. And so on. Tyson is the best mind*****er in boxing since Ali himself. Next two months+ will be a blast.

I'll be watching the fights. You can watch the EVENT.
If you want, you can even form a discussion group to
debate who was the 'best dressed', 'who had the best
hair', and 'who cuts the best promos'.
Your whole explanation reminded me of Vince McMahon
trying to explain the difference between 'sports' and
'sports entertainment' without admitting that it's bollox.
Your whole explanation reminds me of taking a woman to
sporting event. She doesn't care about hockey, she just
wants to watch the man drive the zamboni. She doesn't
care about basketball, but she loves to see the mascots.
The EVENT is for people who aren't enthralled by the SPORT.

You're such a fooking lying idiot it's embarrassing. You know damn well you enjoy the event. Just STFU with your ****** azzed b.s. arguing just to argue, clown boy. All your b.s. deflectorama about GFs, hockey, best dressed, what a pile of forking b.s. you're spewing. Your adrenaline is crankin' when the boxers walk to the ring with their music blasting. You know damn well the anticipation, the build up is something you enjoy just like the vast majority of fans. Take a few long walks off short piers, DA.

I'm in your head now, just like you think Fury is in Wilder's.
That would give me a lot more pleasure if you were not so
                    psychologically fragile.

I struck a nerve when I struck the nail on the head.
Deep down you know you're an effeminate little turd.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. BTW little boy, you should try for once to stay awake there in jr high school. Learn some stuff and stop being an idiot. You may have a nail IN your head, but you haven't done jack to me.
