Oscar had no choice but to cut ties with Schaefer. He was undermining him while he was in rehab. Not sure what Bob has to do with any of this. Oscar is a grown man who can make his own decisions. Oscar has always been wary of Arum, so whatever Bob was whispering I'm sure Oscar heard it from more than one source.

Back when PBC had competition, they were putting on mismatches. Now that HBO is throwing in the towel and other promoters are going to other networks, I think we'll see even more mismatches, tune-ups, and over-hyped opponents than before. Meanwhile, Oscar still has the only real PPV attraction fighting in the U.S. For how much longer, that remains to be seen.

Most if not all the Ringstar fighters are with Haymon for the exception being Nonito Donaire and Tony Yoka I believe

When you consider the amount of talent PBC has signed, you would think there would be a higher volume of competitive fights. PBC has yet to build a big name star on their own.

Errol Spence, Deontay Wilder are emerging stars and there is more coming up not shabby for only existing for 3 years

Idk if any middle ground was attempted or could have been reached to make that situation work, but if it could have & we had GBP being Haymon, Oscar & Richard all on the same team boxing would look a lot different right now I feel like & all 3 guys would be in a better position then they are right now & Richard the most cuz Ring Star hasn't had a whole lot of luck thus far.
Here's an article from 2010 where Oscar is talking about the plans for PBC. He doesn't mention it specifically but you can tell the plans were already in the works.

I think Haymon's plan was for GBP to be the face of PBC & Oscar woulda played a part but not have majority ownership.

But yea the Haymon & Schaefer connection as clearly gone south since Schaefer isn't the guy running GBP. And honestly I think Schaefer would be a good thing for PBC too. Idk if Schaefer is pissing everyone off or if he's just talking his own path more now. The latter might be the case.
Haymon knows Schaefer is a snake that can't be trusted he got him to stab Oscar in the back and no longer has much use for him since he can't be trusted he could just as easily turn on him
