Comments Thread For: Fury: Wilder Ain't Half Man Klitschko Is; Fought Handpicked Bums

As their press conference wound down Monday, Deontay Wilder tried to get under Tyson Fury's skin by mentioning his split with Peter Fury, his uncle and former trainer. Peter Fury trained Tyson Fury for his career-changing upset of longtime heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015. Tyson Fury began working with Ben Davison once he launched his comeback earlier this year, though, and Davison has guided Fury to victories over Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta since June 9.

Yep Wilders whole career has been carefully picked, including this fight with Fury.

Yeah, completely agree. Its an opportunists dream fight! Fury has enough smarts to realise that Wilder will underestimate the fitness considering the layoff.

IMHO, I think Wilder/Finkel/Haymon have been suckered in here, big time. Fury knows that this one fight is a shortcut to fighting AJ for the other titles, back to where he believes he should be! He exploited the failed fight talks between AJ & Wilder.

In fairness fury is taking on a real challenge, the hardest hitting heavyweight in the division but wilder isnt technically sound whether fury can exploit that for the full 12 rounds is intriguing. its a game of cat and mouse as strange as it is referring to fury as a mouse

Wilder has been carefully matched but let's be honest here.....

Wladimir Klitschko was old (39) and showing obvious signs of reflex deterioration in his previous fight vs. Jennings and both guys looked trash.

Wilder is very, very dangerous for anyone and has literally hurt every man he's fought in every single fight. Fury has to fight a perfect fight for 12 rds. to avoid sleeping and I just don't think he can do it. I hope I'm wrong because I want to see a great fight.

The logic is that when Wilder sleeps Fury, the AJ fight will still be a seller due to the domestic rivalry. And if he managed to beat Wilder, he would be A-side vs. AJ and could demand a lot more money.

              On the other hand......

If he got slept by AJ, the Wilder fight goes away altogether.

              Simple business logic.

I don’t think They have been suckered in at all. It’s an easy easy nights work for wilder. They have taken advantage of fury’s blind hate and jealousy of aj. He gets to say he did what aj wouldn’t and wilder gets a name on his record. Win win for them both.
