Comments Thread For: Duran: Mayweather Should Rematch Canelo - I Bet Canelo Wins!

Hall of Fame boxing legend Roberto Duran is not in favor of a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather, 41-years-old, won a twelve round decision over Pacquiao in 2015 - in what was the richest fight in boxing's history. Now Mayweather is discussing the idea of a multi-fight comeback, and he wants to make a rematch with his career rival, who recently captured the WBA "regular" welterweight title with a one-sided knockout of Lucas Matthysse.

Duran is spot on but the problem is Mayweather will never face an opponent where the cards are stacked against him that’s just not what Mayweather does.

This is a prime Canelo not a 22 yr green canelo Floyd will ***** his pants thinking about a fight with canelo at this point.

He was 23 with nearly 50 professional fights. FYI Mayweather wasn’t in his prime. He beat him easily no need for a rematch

I can just hear bitter DLH voice telling him what to say word for word.

If Floyd was still active without the layoff or retirement, I got Floyd again. Simple as that!

Canelo is still too slow, stamina not enough to be ferocious like GGG and far less intelligent for Floyd, his only shot is ****ing to the body over and over and Floyd knows that.

Mayweather wasn’t in his prime? Lol gtfo

And lol at trying to say canelo was in his prime because he had 44 fights against lower level comp at the time.

Floyd was still at his best canelo on the other hand was waaay too green for Floyd at the time and that’s a fact.

You noobs need to find another sport cuz boxing ain’t for you.

I believe Floyd was 36 at the time and moving up in weight for the 100th time.

Kidbazooka you need to relax! When Floyd was active, there was no one around WW that could have the cards stacked against Floyd.

You Floyd huggers need to relax because Floyd demanded a cw on canelo and knew damn well he wasn’t ready for that fight yet that’s the reason he took it.

Floyd is an opportunist plain n simple.

I know that some people might be excited about Canelo facing another older guy but the point is, Canelo had that chance before. We all know that prime Canelo would never win against prime Floyd so what's the point of bringing a 40 year old boxer who's past prime from retirement? It would be better if Canelo will find somebody his own age next time

Its amazing how people can't get over the fact that Mayweather is still undefeated. Now they want him to fight a full-fledged, PED-using middleweight, despite the fact he's clearly past his prime, and could probably still make 147. These are also the same people who claimed he'd never fight Canelo in the first place, and we see how one-sided that fight turned out. That's what happens when boxing fans are emotional, as opposed to logical.
