Will HBO go out in style?

As we all know, HBO is bowing after after an October title fight.

But will they give the boxing fans something before it's over?

45 years of fights on HBO. How about one of these.

-The best fight in each year of the past 45 years
-The 45 best fights on HBO
-Top 45 fighters to appear on HBO

Or at the least a documentary on HBO Boxing.

They likely will do some kind of 45 year retrospect and then Jim Lampley will cry a little.

I doubt it. Or I doubt anything that would do it justice. I'm sure they'll show some lil thing about the great fights or w/e.

That said I'd bet that HBO Sports will do a doc about HBO Boxing at some point cuz the history is so rich & was so impactful to the sport of boxing for so long how could they not do some HBO Sports doc maybe 3, 5 or 10 years down the line when you can better frame HBO Boxing when some time as past.

They need to do something this year. We don't need some ESPN 30 for 30 in 10 years (hmm) we need something now. Or at least run some old fights back.

Why do you need something now?

I mean maybe they will show some great fights to end the year on HBO Ocho or something, but what actually does HBO Boxing justice to most fans? I guess I don't even understand what they could do. A nice thank to all the fans, fighters & staff that made HBO Boxing last for 45 years? Idk does that do anything really? Does showing the ten best fights of the last 45 years do anything?

They are gonna go out like they came in, showing us the fights I feel like. But I do think the story of HBO gets told in an HBO doc at some point & we'll all watch that & love it. Thats gonna take time & distance before it'll happen doe I'd think.

Lampley is going to cry for sure. I'd bet my life savings on it.
