You mean around the time when GGG was still prime, undefeated and hadn't been robbed 2x by Golden Girl judges?

        Yup, sounds about right.

GGG wasn't hurt in that fight. Keep trying to discredit him tho. It's funny what you haters will come up with. Especially since there's not much to really hate about Golovkin other than his dominance.

Froch would've gotten on his knees and bowed before him, like he did against Jermain Taylor...

Except that GGG wasn't hurt, and had it not been for that rule, he wouldn't have received a count.
If they didn't count jabs, GGG wouldn't have been ahead.

Remind me, how did that fight end?

As for the question, we'll never know, but I'll just say this:

They have weight classes for a reason. Froch is the bigger man with a five inch reach advantage.

                    Hah, now you're getting it!

I call Errol overrated ALL. THE. TIME.

Same with Jermall and Deontay. Hell Deontay was hairs away from being a MEME.

                    PFP Top:
                    Loma
                    TC
                    Usyk
                    Rungvisai
                    Ionue
                    Ca$hnelo
                    Mikey G
                    AJ
                    LSC
                    GGG/Callum Smith/etc.

Errol and Charlos and Deontay are not Top 10 fighters. Top 10 is based on resume (mostly for me) and eye test.

Although I like GGG I just cant give him free points. He honestly does have one of the worst resumes of a supposedly revered champion...like ever. It's a shame he didnt get big fights sooner (which is something HE is responsible for)...turned pro late, refused to play B-side for years before ultimately accepting B-side against Canelo, passed up good competition (dervenchenko and Andrade, Ward, Cotto, Lara, etc.) to fight guys like Brook (at 160 and not at least 157..), Wade, Monroe, and Vanes - poor choices.

At one point I had Gennady as high as 7 due to the eye test, but when he finally stepped up against Danny Jacob's - who another poster suggested is Edison Miranda level...I think Danny J is more like Danny Garcia (struggles in small and big fights...usually wins, but is clearly not that good). Either way GGG had his hands full with Danny J. That's not a good look tbh..at least not when people suggest the guy is TOP ATG MW (based on what lol).

And I don't get ****** into the media making Gennady or Canelo #1 or #2. They're wrong - period. Its an insult to guys who climb weight classes and dominate whatever their opposition is (see Loma, Mikey, TC, Ionue, and Canelo to an extent, etc.)

None of Sor Rung, AJ, LSC, or Usyk (amazing amateur and pro so far, but not the depth...YET) have the dominance across several weight classes checked for me. Nonetheless they're going that direction...

Sor beat Chocalatitio...twice! And Roman was Top 5 PFP the first time (maybe Top 3)
AJ stopped and retired Wlad, stopped Povetkin, and has gotten by all lesser HWs...all you can ask so far
LSC is a good fighter whose had an interesting matchup with C.F. around Lightweight. I dont see LSC ever being a PFP #1 guy, but he should make Top 10 lists consistently
Usyk has #1 potential. Hes very good. Cant wait for his future to unfold.

The difference between those guys (Usyk, AJ, Sor, LSC) is that they fought the Cottos, Dervenchenkos, Andrades, and Canelos (or Wards)...and won. So they should be higher on a PFP list than someone who has never left his weight class and balked at chances to attain greatness (Ward and CW fights with Cotto and Canelo).

Errol and Charlos are good prospects and if Deontay wins in dominant fashion he could make a case for fringe Top 10...as could Fury - it's a big fight for both guys

Groves is FAST, hits hard, he also has good movement in a bigger frame than GGG, he's not better, but these variances matter when breaking down the styles. It's not as simple as you try to make it.

It's the slingshot effect, GGG was overrated for years, now he's prob become underrated...deal with it
couldn't disagree with you more. Golovkin is better than Froch from every stand point. I'm not sure why boxing fans can't think in periods of more than last 12 months. Just because he didn't land well on Canelo doesn't mean he's am average boxer or has accuracy issues. Dude was one of the most accurate punchers in the world for past 5 years. Froch would be a mess by the 3rd round. He's made of iron, but he won't come close to Golovkin often and will look like lacy against Calzaghe.

Groves has been down a lot on his career. Stop comparing him to Golovkin. Maybe he has slightly better one punch ko power, but he's not close in every other department.

Golovkin by easy decision or mid-late ko.
