Other than a select few you can count in one hand, the greatest fighters ever all had loses. Its a contact sport, nobody is invulnerable to a perfect shot. I think we expect too much from fighters nowadays, not everyone can retire with a flawless record.
Before someone points out, I'm aware Groves didn't have a prefect record going into this fight, I'm just making a general point about expectations.Last edited by sayf; 09-28-2018, 11:32 PM.

It's positive for boxing: A half decent fight, a KO finish and the loser makes no excuses. The undercard was a bit naff but we've been getting used to that lately. I thought Smith handled the occasion and approached the fight really well. That's going to stand him in good stead for future high profile nights. Well done, Mundo. Definitely my favourite Smith bro.

Groves would still beat him again now. Smith is on a completely different level of skill and power to Eubank Jr.

I thought Groves had this in the bag, well done Callum Smith. Glad there was a decisive winner and no excuses.
Groves doesn't need to retire just because he's lost. I think he should go and beat Degale again as a nice tune up fight (He beats Degale easily at this stage) then have another run and try to become a 2x Super Middleweight Champion.
Maybe fight Degale, Abraham then go for a title.
