I thought the fight was close but had Groves winning due to his jab and body shots. However, Groves deffo seemed off. He was slow, out of range, missing big swings, taking many seemingly unnecessary shots. Callum was cool and composed and fought a great fight, taking nothing away from him but that really didn't look like a fully fit Groves.

Does not surprise me at all, Callum was my pick from the beginning and his temperament was always going to handle boxing in saudi better.

Does this mean Smith’s other opponents were very good or did he just not try because they were limited
He lost motivation i think, performs at his best when challenged, smashed the **** out that french dude and Fielding, then went down. You challenge him he performs

Now I see why people say 168 division is very mediocre.

Groves was hit behind the head but I think the damage had already been done that body shot was vicious and Groves was already hurt so I think even if that shot behind the head hadn't landed he still would have taken more punishment and dropped again.

I didn't rate Callum highly after his last fight against Holzken but styles make fights and Groves trying to box Smith from the outside was the wrong gameplan, Smith did box nice and controlled the range Groves was missing his right all night. Fair play good to see a new champion would be a good fight against Benavidez Ramirez or Uzcategui a bunch of tall super middleweight champions.

Really didn't care about Smith before this but Groves being a piece of **** and Smith handling it so well + dealing with it in that way raised my opinion of him greatly. Groves didn't rate him no matter what he says in interviews and it showed, he walked in like he was gonna walk him down, caught a jab on the sternum in round on and went backpedalling from then on. He needed Smith to make multiple mistakes, tried to get him to do it with fouls and low blows and Smith rose above it all and punished him for it then was dignified after and didn't even mention the bull****.

2 top 10 MW's already failed at SMW in Eubank Jr. & Murray.
Brant was also one of the hottest prospects at 160, failed to

ggg just lost to a 5'8 junior middleweight who'd be at a severe size disadvantage against every single SMW.

Jacobs went life and death with Sulecki who fights like a poor man's Smith.
