  • Comments Thread For: Smith: Groves No Longer Same Fighter Physically; I'll Stop Him

Callum Smith admits George Groves has a more impressive resume than him. Groves' history doesn't make Smith any less confident that he'll win their super middleweight title fight Friday night. That's because the unbeaten Smith senses the 30-year-old Groves isn't the same fighter from a physical standpoint as he was when he fought Carl Froch for the first time nearly five years ago.

Wonder if Groves ever addressed that bad breath issue that Froch point out? Either way, this fight is pointless. Boxing is really dying right now. You guys might want to start jumping on the UFC bandwagon now.

If it is dying in your eyes why are you here? Seems like you should take your own advice and get on that wagon and don't look back. Nobody will care, promise you that.

Groves looks terrible. He'll probably get folded.

I think experience will be the deciding factor in this fight.

Smith hasn't been near the level that Groves has been at so I think he gets stopped late on, Smith was looking gaunt, it can't be easy for someone who is 6 foot 3 to make 160lbs.

Smith has looked good against people who aren't truly there to win (the fights in this tournament excluded). Take for example Fielding who felt a few shots from him and immediately folded. Groves won't have that mentality.. It's all well and good stopping people who aren't there to win as it's easy to break their spirit.

What smith does have is a good left hook to the body so if he can keep sinking that in a few times a round it may keep Groves off of him.

This is smith’s first solid test at world level, I think once he feels the right hand of Groves that’ll keep him from marauding forward like he does usually, it’s a good fight though, but I think Smith’s in for a shock.
