Is Wilder the biggest Superstar boxer in US?

That's what folks say. I don't really know. I've been on television a few times, Showtime, Discovery, Channel 4, TLC, and CBS. Depending on how you look at statics I'm really famous. Nearly a billion views. My name is Adam Ramos and you've never heard of me because I am not famous despite having been seen by a decent portion of the world's population. Plenty of way to explain this, but the easiest is simply views do not equate to popularity or even new eyes. They're just views.
Being the biggest draw or having the most views doesn't begin to speak to how popular someone is. Becoming more ubiquitous with pop culture does. That said, boxing is not popular in America. Being the most popular guy in an unpopular sport is like being the smartest kid in special ed.
I don't think Wilder's argument should reflect what he is presently so much as what he has the potential to be. He could be what wakes the American public up to boxing or the vehicle for who does. What America hasn't had in a very long time is a highly promotable fight at HW. Being that highly promotable fight in the biggest market on the planet is a good idea no matter who you are or where you're from.Comment

I don't know about this PPV stuff. But I do know Fury will draw a lot of attention to himself in America and I know Wilder will ragdoll him in brutal fashion.
This will be one of those viral clips after the fight. That will bring popularity.Comment

Wilder is the biggest American star in boxing, but not the biggest star in American boxing. Canelo is a bigger star than Wilder obviously.
He is the biggest American star in heavyweight boxing since Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. People forget just how far heavyweight boxing fell in America after Lennox Lewis retired. The era of Byrd, Oquendo, McCline, Ruiz, Rahman, Brewster etc, then followed by Klitschko domination, nearly killed American interest in heavyweights.
For Wilder to come along, inheriting scorched Earth, and rebuild American interest in the heavyweights to the point where Wilder is now the #1 star on the #1 boxing network is very impressive.
Kudos to AJ for being the biggest heavyweight star in the world. By far.
But let's give some credit to Wilder. Who came along when heavyweight boxing was pretty much dead in the US, and in a few short years has rebuilt interest to the point where heavyweights can headline a PPV.Comment
