Where does Golden Boy go from here after HBO collapse?

Especially with Canelo and his PPV format fights?

I still see the up and coming GBP fighters still fighting on ESPN 2 & Facebook Live but what about the bigger names like David Lemieux, Jorge Linares, Vergil Ortiz, and Ryan Garcia. Where would they fight? They need a better platform then ESPN 2 & Facebook Live.

IMO! GBP & Team Canelo need to get a exclusive deal with Showtime PPV & the rest of GBP try to get deal done with DAZN. IMO!

Well, they have that facebook thing going on which works for a lot of their fighters since they are low budget caliber fighters.

PBC just signed a three year deal with SHO and are booked for at least 12 dates a year from 2019 on. Canelo is PPV so it won't affect him but GBP is going to use Canelo to get dates where ever he ends up at.

ESPN makes sense as Arum doesn't have the stable to fill dates anyways. But does GBP want to make a deal with them? I question that.

DAZN? Works for non-Canelo GBP I guess, but again does GBP want to do that? Then they would essentially be co-promoting on Hearn's shows.

      Thats the mfing question.

I lean towards Showtime making some sorta offer cuz I think Canelo would be a great addition to Showtime & give that a PPV guy to potentially build up other Showtime guys on PPV.

Problem is Oscar & Espinoza got issues apparently & its not crazy to think maybe Showtime Boxing used up a nice % of their budget moving forward on this PBC deal.

I think ESPN could make sense & I think DAZN is even in play here too. If I was breaking it up into percentage chance to sign I'd probably put Showtime at 33%, ESPN at 29%, DAZN at 28% & some new entity entering the boxing game 10%. So basically its highly up in the air & I imagine what these platforms have for the rest of the GBP roster greatly matters.

That said someone showed a tweet about someone hinting that Canelo only has one fight left with GBP. If Canelo leaves GBP that is really gonna put a pickle in Oscar....uhmmm I mean put Oscar in a pickle with getting a new TV deal & could dictate him taking a much less favorable deal.

DAZN is really the outlet that most needs content so that could work for everyone on the GBP roster but Canelo. Canelo is a PPV fighter now so it doesn't matter much to him but DAZN does not really have that, I guess they could it is not that complicated but they have their own set up to be worried about before branching into something like that. So I don't know about the fit in that way and it would kind of waste their biggest trump card.

ESPN seems to be hitching their wagon to Top Rank but they would probably be wise to diversify and add to their potential of real quality fights they could work out easily.

Showtime or Fox would have the same issue being tied to PBC for the most part but PBC does have a bigger roster so there is less of an issue but GBP could be useful to them also to make sure they are getting the best possible product out of PBC and keeper some bigger fights open without having to really do extra work.

Oscar is connected enough to get his own deal somewhere could be back at Showtime, could be ESPN which he already work with or could be a Network out of nowhere

Obviously Goldenboy is going with Showtime. Years ago it was revealed thru court documents that Canelo makes up over 90% of all Goldenboy revenue. Showtime provides a proven PPV model, has access to the best competition for Canelo/Goldenboy stable & Osacar has had nothing but praise for Showtime.
