what the hell are you an about. them polls are a big enough sample size to give a good indication of the percentage of people who thought which fighter won. we arent talking about a poll of 20 people here, there was a lot of votes

there are biased and unbiased polls larry.

Political polls are a bad example because they are very often surveys and are biased and targeted by the polling company to show a desired result, such as all the polls that had trump losing to hillary by a landslide. They are not open polls. The polling company surveys a specific audience.

The polls we used were public polls, not targeted surveys, where anyone was free to give their vote...

But if you want to go there larry, trump is doing much better than *****, and quite frankly, he will be remembered among the greatest presidents up there with lincoln and reagan.

thats not how polling and sample sizes work larry. its just not. i implored you to do the research so you actually knew what you were saying but you refused instead thinking you know everything when you clearly do not. you are just revealing yourself to be completely wrapped up in your own bias. you wont even acknowledge that most people think something you don't.

5000 people / respondents is actually a lot more than most direct studies unless you're just reviewing literature and gathering data like that. 1000 is a lot closer to what you see for even political polls that make their way to TV.

it's not perfect, but it's definitely a good sample. more than adequate as evidence. not gospel, but compelling, strong evidence. there are obviously flaws within this methodology, you'll find them in any study, and any decent paper about a study will talk about them. if you have a better method for checking the pulse of the boxing community on the result of ward - kovalev 1 i'd be curious to see it.
