I can't think of any promoters who simply tell the truth, which is that their top guy is going to face adversity in the ring. Sensationalizing the fight due to Povetkin's good showing could have been a good idea, but Hearn, in flawless promoter fashion, just lied.

I remember fighting with the flu didn't go well for me but I beat the same kid months later with ease so credit to the big man heart of a lion beating a top 3 hw in 50% condition

For AJ to acknowledge he could lose is one of the best ways not to lose because it keeps him on his best at all times. Mike Tyson always thought he was indestructible and his arrogance cost him. AJ on the other hand has a very realistic approach and a better sense of himself. I also thought AJ was being honest and forthcoming in this article and was just detailing how camp went and that it was not the perfect camp and he described it with no BS at all and that is admirable.

GTFO here with this flu bull****. No boxer is fighting with full blown real deal flu. NONE. You literally feel like you’re truly dying and have no strength or energy.Last edited by richardt; 09-25-2018, 11:13 AM.

Secondly, every person responds differently to different types of flu and it lasts for different lengths depending on age and health and recuperative abilities. History is full of boxers fighting with colds and flu during or just after being sick and the same with marathon runners. This is nothing new, son.
