LOL! Always luv those ridiculous 'everyone knows that' type comments. So, squire, you actually think all that huffing and puffing GGG did mid rounds was a hoax? I mean geez, Canelo landed stacks of insanely wicked thumping body shots on GGG... and that WILL happen vs Charlo. And Charlo will start dropping his elbows to save his beat up sore ribs, and then here come the head shots and Charlo will wonder what happened as he's plastered onto the canvas for the count.

It's not tough to figure out that ggg is 36 yrs old, he's shown signs of gradually slowing down for 2-3 yrs now, & seems gassed later in fights. Canelo just lacked the stamina, aggression and fight changing power to do anything about it. Charlo likely wouldn't have that problem.

        Don’t do this to yourself.

I’ll save you the energy and let’s just go with “We’ll see what happens.”

Agree to disagree if you will.

        Bless your heart.

Well Jermall won't make it to Canelo if he fights GGG. He has a better chance beating canelo than GGG.

The WBC, WBA, and IBF, for a few years now, have had an agreement in place that helps ease the path toward unification fights by cooperating on the schedule for the mandatory defenses.

Unification trumps mandatory, and the seeming rotation (I don't know for sure) is the WBC goes first, than the WBA, and then the IBF (depending on when the mandatory is called).

Alvarez beat Cotto, to become WBC champion; Golovkin was already WBA champion, but the WBC still let him fight to become mandatory.

When Golovkin's mandatory defense was called, Alvarez simply gave up the belt and moved from 155lbs back to 154lbs.

With Golovkin now having the WBC, WBA, and IBF belts, the Jacobs fight was called for the WBA's mandatory.

The Alvarez voluntary followed, and then the IBF's mandatory was due; Golovkin, only looking after the cheque, hoped to fight a can while he waited, and then get another voluntary from the IBF, which they refused.

With the IBF belt now gone, the most current owed mandatory then became Jermall Charlo, who'd been the mandatory since July 2017.

How David Lemieux jumped Ryota Murata for a shot (the WBA rules seem to indicate that the regular champion can challenge the "Super" champion every 16 months, with "Super" champion status eliminating any other mandatory challengers anyway) is beyond me

So (I hope I get this straight) your saying that Canelo can't fight Lemieux in December? He must fight Charlo next? Saunders, Andrade, Jacobs and Dervy won't be available for December 15th! GBP already has MSG on hold!

Charlo has been owed his mandatory for some time now, he and his camp have been patient with the WBC and the two Alvarez-Golovkin fights, but that patience is running thin.

The WBC will make their formal declaration September 30th, but I doubt that they will ask Charlo to wait through another WBC voluntary and Alvarez-Golovkin 3, putting Charlo's wait at over 2 years for his shot.

If Oscar is bent on fighting in New York before the end of the year, he should hope that that cut somehow talks the WBC into naming him emeritus champion, Charlo will fight for the vacant belt, and Alvarez will have that fight as an option for May or September 2019 (along with Golovkin, the Derevyanchenko-Jacobs winner, and the Saunders-Andrade winner) after beating on Lemieux to defend the WBA belt.
