    Your point?
correct. He has been beat by Toney in a very tough fight, who fought and beat 2 HW champs. Sergia, who is the current champ. And Barrett who is a very solid fighter. Beating Guinn is a big deal. the 3 people that beat quinn all got a title shot soon after.

Thompson vs Austin would be a nice fight.

my point has been made. we'll see how far he goes. btw, i'm not saying tony's a bad fighter but....

guinn lost 4 of his last 7 fights. he's not exactly what i would call a confident fighter at this point in his career. although guinn has fought against some very good comp, he is likely at the end of his hayday as a heavyweight fighter.

it will be interesting, though, to see if thompson will use this as a stepping stone or just feel content fighting people like maurice wheeler and willie perryman.

yeah, this could be an interesting match up. but isn't austin tied up with sultan at the moment. not sure austin has what it takes to get by ibragimov.

i bet 100 bucks on thompson when i saw he weighed in at 238. he was a 2.5-1 underdog. dominic guinn is pathetic, he fought like someone was holding his kid hostage and told him the kid was dead if he tried to so much as land a punch.

Guinn is not solid. His last hurrah was his first hurrah, vs Dokiwari.

The problem with Guinn is very simple. He had way too many amatuer fights and has nothing left to give.

when was the last time you saw a guy land 45 percent of his punches in a 12 round heavyweight fight? im pretty sure that was the final punch stat for thompson.
