The purpose of the second Mayweather-Pacquiao fight isn’t complicated. It’s a means of reaching into your wallet and extracting another $100 for a pathetically weak product that isn’t worth $1 as the fighters and their handlers laugh their way to the bank to collect their unearned windfalls.

So how is having Boxing fans buzzing about Boxing bad? And paleeez how does Floyd announcing a fight with Qwackman still any thunder? Did it cause someone to say....OH FLOYD AND QWACK IN A REMATCH IM NOT BUYING CANELO VS GOLOVKIN 2?....No it absolutely didn’t, cause anyone watching the fight, or paying for it still did. I live in Las Vegas and the Buzz in town and on the strip was very very high for the fight, hardly anyone mentioned Floyd’s announcement! The point is I was at ground zero that night, and Floyd’s announcement didn’t still anyone’s thunder, if anything it got fans and casuals buzzing! His timing to announce the fight is perfect to draw attention I agree with that. Can’t deny he chooses certain time to announce to potentially stick it to Oscar or ride the Buzz of an already big fight. But hey the MF is a brilliant self promoter, and I never saw this super hateful biased writer say shiiid about all the people from Arum, Pacquiao, Rousey, GGG, DLH, McGregor, Dana White, and a slew of others using Mayweathers name to hype themselves! Where was this guys indignation then?
Floyd’s fights are very entertaining to me I enjoy all the styles with the exception of base Brawlers who block punches with their face. But a good Brawler like Mike, or Boxer/puncher/Brawlers like Hagler and Duran, are phenomenal to watch! The Omar Figuroas and Margaritos are crappy to me cause there’s nothing sweet or scientific about their style! Watching Floyd to me is a thing of Beauty to see a Master pugilist usually totally neutralize his opponents best weapons and make it look easy, that is badass! Timing
So Mayweather makes an announcement(s) at a time when media attention is on boxing. How is that bad for the sport? To keep the worlds attention on the sport AFTER the big event is over is a positive. It would come off as, "Wow, after fighter A vs fighter B we have the Mayweather fight!" As a poster wrote earlier, a fight with no REAL date is not going to stop someone from buying a PPV the day of the fight. Is it a money grab? Maybe, but is it anymore of a money grab than Leonard/Hearns 2 or Leonard/Duran 3? Maybe just maybe Floyd is doing to also help Manny get a big payday to help with his tax issues. Heck, I hope they put Hopkins/Toney & the rumored Lewis/Vitali exhibition on this Seniors Tour undercard!Comment
