Hurd unified with Lara. Jermell should unify with Mungia.

When they bring in the rule of not putting on over 10% of the weight class weight overnight on Jan 1st, Mungia's JMW run is over.

You made it sound like Golden Boy would be willing to make that fight.

All of them. The ABC passed it for all title fights.

Not every 21 year is Canelo. He’s in the books as a champ, it doesnt matter. But don’t hold it hostage and keep the guys who ARE at the top from fighting for a title you happened to fall into.
Mungia provides good pressure and is bigger than Jermell with what seems to be a solid beard

Although Jermell is obviously better technically, Mungia is very hard to prepare for and would test Jermell's chin

Very good unification fight that should happen early 19

              Winner faces Hurd for supremacy

Jermell isnt that small though. Sure, Munguia is a giant like Hurd, but I think Jermell is too much too soon and stylistically, I think he’d fare better vs Hurd but even that seems a tall task.

Jermell is too sharp imo and Munguia needs to tighten it up a bit (a lot). Charlo might not be the most devastating puncher on earth but he’s developed into a good puncher. He can def crack...and a decently big guy who can crack and counter and is obviously more skilled is not who you want to put in your young and ferocious but clearly green fighter up against. I think late 2019 at the earliest and we probably wont see him in against Hurd or Charlo until after those two have fought (they seem to be on a collision course)

I think late 2019-early 2020 might be a good time to start looking at the aging Lara or someone like that to prepare for a big 2020-21 VERY losable fight but if he looks good and Lara doesnt...i’d consider it. It also has Canelo comparisons as a story and to a lesser extent Hurd.

He’s in a weird spot right now. Kell Brook seems a good option moving past that but I’ve always been super high on Brook and he’s not that small either despite moving up. Also losable. But imd rather start there than risk getting humiliated by Charlo.

He needs activity, rounds, and fights right now

Am I just too high on Charlo?

Sure, you see Charlo soundly defeating Mungia. That's fine.

I'm just trying to spread the wealth here. Hurd already unified with Lara to win 3 belts with 2 being the major ones.

Now its time for the other title holders to do their part.

Asking 1 guy (Hurd) to fight in 3 unification fights, with the last title holder (Mungia) sitting on the sideline is unfair, imo.

Even if Charlo beats Mungia, he must still get in there and unify and put some mileage on his car like Hurd has had to do. Fighting Trout in his last fight was a freebie.

And as a champion, there's no such thing as "he's not ready yet".
I agree. Mungia has a chin, size, stamina and throws all bombs from beginning to end, so I don't think Charlo blows him out either.
