The late emanuel steward said every time you grt knocked spark out it weakens your ability to take a shot, that showed in the vargas fight. Cant question khans heart as he has a true fighters heart but his chin at this point is hopeless and hes not wise enough at this stage in his career to make the adaptions to protect that chin, he never learns from his mistakes. Any top 15 ww would stop him.

Totally agree, I often wonder had he had Emanuel Stewart or Uncle Mayweather as his coach instead of Freddie during those years what he might have been. Then again, would he have listened, he tends to be too ego driven to not get into brawls.

If he accepted it and embraced it he would’ve done something about it. He would’ve slowly rebooted his style. He would have evolved.
Under them, he’d learn how to clinch, how to fight tall and safe — albeit boring— it would win him fights.
He’d be less flashy but will have more substance.

He can take a punch, but only when he sees them coming like with Maidana, who is a big puncher. His problem is that world class guys can set up shots that he can't see, and he just doesn't take those well. The Garcia and Alvarez KOs show that to me clearly. He's been hit hard and flush and stood up to punches with varying levels of consciousness, but when his eyes aren't on the killshot then he gets absolutely crumpled.

Does that make any sense, or did I just try to nuance a chinny chin?

Once Maidana hooked up with Robert Garcia he got WAY better. That Maidana would of beat Khan down and I like Khan.
