According to Lampley this is what matters when scoring a fight:

They don’t need to confuse themselves with Compubox numbers and round by round scoring and technical analysis. Via the metric of social media, and among themselves on the street, they have spoken loudly again.
Basically, he thinks social media should determine who wins a fight, not stats, technical analysis and official boxing judges. So, from now on it's more of a popularity contest.

      And he's a boxing analyst?

And this is the best part:
Now Triple G is something of a latter day Ali, a global superstar..But the two decisions which have frustrated Gennady Golovkin have dramatically multiplied the size of Triple G nation, which is now a global cult. You don’t have to win to be the winner. That’s boxing. That’s life..
Really? A global superstar? A cultural icon as big as Ali was back in the 70s? GGG has a global cult following?

Don't have time to look thru dozens of polls, but I'd question it. I saw a really close fight that could've went either way. A fight where both fighters dug deep and showed skill and resolve. Lampley isn't doing the sport any favors by making a pompous bleating like this. Luv, hate, just ok with the sport. Whatever. But don't make it sound like boxing is on massively shaky ground because a close fight didn't go the way X number of people thought it should.

You got it wrong, it goes something like this: when Canelo was backing up - he outfoxed GGG. When Canelo stood in the pocket - he was the aggressor and won. No matter how you spin it - Canelo is the winner. That's Vegas for you: sometimes a choice between legacy and money. I hope that if they fight, they'll fight the third one in MSG in May. Or how about Russia? Kazakhstan? You know, a more leveled feel to compensate two robberies. Yeah, I'd go with Kasakhstan

The more I think about this the more I think this means Oscar has taken Canelo elsewhere otherwise he would not have said this.

No, not the same proportion. But have you ever seen Nike selling Danny Jacobs' merch? BJS's? Ward's? Wilder's? Not that Nike is the only indicator obviously. So yeah, actually in boxing these days he is one of the superstars along with Canelo and AJ, he is one of the few guys who has massive admiration and almost universal acknowledgment, respect and love. He is known all over the world by boxing fans and comes closer to a household name than any other current champ with just a few exceptions. Pick 5 names and GGG will be there.

It wasn't close. GGG won convincingly and you can win a close fight convincingly.

There are two kinds of people that think Canelo won: the hater and the fanboy. If you're a true fan of Boxing, GGG won it's simple.
And you fall under the Casual RTARD category.
