My Thoughts on Winky, Floyd, Margarito!!!!

1st off I will repeat what I said in that Margarito thread I made in that I dont know how a fight with him & Winky will play out. Part of me thinks that Winky could just make him look silly and kill him with that jab but then part of me actually thinks Margarito can win this fight.

Look at the Soliman fight. Margarito is similar to Soliman except he is stronger, taller, and has slightly better technique. They both throw a bunch of punches that Winky will have trouble blocking because they come wide and from the sides. Winky's style is to block straight punches. Thats how Soliman lit him up and Margarito does the same thing except with mad power.

You may try to compare this to the Santos fight but I still think Margarito won, Santos weighed 170, the fight was in Santos home town, and most importantly is that Santos was a Southpaw. Also call me crazy but Im still not sold on Winky's greatness like everyone else. He still only beat a small Mosley who hadnt won in 4 fights before Winky fought him, Tito was coming off a 2 year retirment, was just killed 2 fights before, and was clearly out his prime, Taylor is good but is still very green and we can all see that. Im not fully sold on Winky's greatness and I think the wins over Mosley & Tito are highly overrated when you look at the circumstances. People act like he killed those guys in there prime.

As for Floyd, you all know Im a huge fan but I still rip him when he takes a ****ty fight when he didnt have to. Now its clear that Hatton and others are ducking him but he still had the Margarito fight for big money, so if he ends up fighting someone like Baldy then I would kill him. The good thing is that Margarito may win and make a Floyd fight huge, like I said that Margarito needed before

I only saw Winky's knees buckle once but that was for a split-second and he wasn't really that hurt. If Taylor (who teed off on him pretty good a couple of times) couldn't really hurt Winky then Margarito definitely won't.

I'm thankful Margarito has stopped calling people out who are 20 lbs smaller then him and he's fighting someone his own size. Margarito is not like Solimon at all. Margarito does not throw nearly enough punches as Solimon but he is a lot more powerful. Margarito is honestly not that good and we will all see what the Margarito nut huggers will say after he takes a beating.

You say that Taylor is bigger & Stronger but thats really the only thing thats good about him now and the only reason why he's winning. As far as pure skill goes, he's not on the level with any top boxer in the sport. You are also completely wrong about Margarito throwing punches. Everyone knows him for throwing over a 100 punches in a round and doing it often. Kind of like Phillip N'Dou.

They arent the kind of power guys who just throw one punch at a time. Thats why there hard to beat. They throw power punches non stop

Floyd is the one who moved up to welterweight, and therefore needs to fight a welterweight. Also, Winky is bigger than Tony...6 pounds bigger.

Either way, what DLT said still stands. Winky is susceptible to the kind of punches Tony throws. I think Winky will win a fairly close UD, but to say Tony is no good is lame.

Tony is a damned good fighter. He gets the job done.

True but styles make fights. Winky has a great defense but every good thing has a flaw. Winky's flaw is that if you throw alot of punches then his natural reflex in his defensvies style is to cover up.

Even Teddy Atlas was talking about it before the Taylor fight. He said that Winky fights with his hands up and off his back foot so if you throw a bunch of punches then you can handcuff him.

Taylor may hit harder then Margarito but he's a counter puncher which is made for Winky's style. Soliman is average but he handcuffed Winky and Margarito can do the same except he's more talented then Soliman

Solimon was on something that night though. With all due respect to Margarito, he does have great stamina but Solimon was unreal that night in the stamina department. Winky, who had a cold that night and did look a little soft if you compare him to Taylor, easily UD'd him then Margarito will NOT get a decision. His only chance is a knockout.
