I thought it was the options were the problem? Oscar was only gonna let him fight if he signed a 3 fight option or w/e. Thats gonna be the stumbling block for Mikey getting a big fight with any non-PBC entity.

He is no closer to becoming a superstar than he was then. He should have took the three fight deal. Even Robert said it was very good.

I see it like this. I really really want Mikey to keep his two belts. So fight Commey if necessary. We will have a potential unification fight for all the belts next year for an undisputed lightweight championship.

The thing is this isn't even a bad fight, because while Commey isn't a household name he is actually a good fighter and one of the best at LW - Obviously this fight isn't ideal as Linares would be a better challenge but I can see Garcia taking this fight to stay busy, waiting for the winner of Loma/Pedraza for a unification fight for all 4 belts next year

he should fight commey and keep his belt,when loma beats pedraza then they can unify for all the belts rather than fantasizing about a Spence fight which in reality and in all odds is a Spence career altering beatdown waiting for him
