Canelo was clearly landing the cleaner power shots throughout just like the first fight. The facial damage is just evidence to back it up.

Yeah, some guys mark up pretty easily.

I mean, take Linares' fight with DeMarco. DeMarco did end up winning when Linares' face fell apart but before that, Linares clearly had him beat on points. No way DeMarco should have won a decision had the fight went twelve. So the facial damage didn't really tell the story in that one.

It seems like Vinny Pazienza got cut in every fight he had but he won many of them.

Heck, Kell Brook marked GGG up. Did he win the fight? Clearly not.

Facial damage just doesn't always tell the story.
