I watched the fight again today. Canelo stood in front of GGG all night and fought a great fight and took some great shots and gave some great shots. BUT it looked like GGG edged this fight, 7-5, looking at it more closely. Easily could have been a draw. I believe the judges were persuaded by Canelo sticking right in the pocket and the heart he showed throughout the fight. Again, he landed some very good body and head shots too. But I’m not sure where CompuBox came up with their numbers. Actually seeing the fight again and all the in close fighting, I just thought GGG eked out a very close decision. I don’t fault the judges though. Every round was close.

Their (2) fights remind me of Marquez and Manny’s first (2) fights, the draw and then the decision win by Manny in their 2nd fight. I think the 3rd fight with Canelo vs GGG will follow the same pattern as Marquez vs Manny (3) with Canelo winning another close decision.

      Talk about hating!
I can tell it bothers you that a Mexican is the new ppv star in boxing!
Hating gets you nowhere man, remember that!

He is not a natural middleweight, a very small one actually, so he could fight a variety of opponents that are not overwhelmingly bigger than him.

As of now, the bigger Charlo is way too dangerous, Saunders is a bit/h stylistically, and the winner of the DJ/SD fight will lack box office appeal, the middleweight division is bust, for Canelo to continue to make big events, he will now have to start looking down the scale.

A third fight with GGG should be out of the question, maybe 2 years from now after GGG has won a couple fights, nothing to gain from beating the old man a second time.
Clearly YOU don’t understand the business of boxing. Why would Canelo or GGG wait (2) years for the 3rd fight. Canelo should want the fights that will put the most money in the bank while he is in his prime and if he has a good promoters, they will also. It’s all about what fights will generate the “most revenue” in a particular space in time. And GGG will be 38 in (2) years. The public would have less interest in that fight especially if GGG shows deterioting skills over the next (2) years fighting lower tier fighters then Canelo. He could lose some appeal more. There have been only a few fighters that have fought well past 36 in the history of boxing in he past decade, Floyd & Bernard. Everyone can’t maintain a certain level of skill like they did. And there isn’t (1) fight out there now that will generate close to the money a 3rd GGG fight will. If I were Canelo, I would let GGG rest like his trainer said until May 19 and fight him then. GGG would have no fights in between. That doesn’t mean Canelo can’t take (1) fight before their 3rd match.

And all those fighters you named are still in their prime, they will be there later for Canelo if they keep winning. Oscar knows what he is doing with Canelo and he has to make sure his moves guarantee the “most money” right now for Canelo who is 28 and has around 10 years left. The same can’t be said for GGG who is fighting on borrowed time already.

I am shocked that Abel is taking this loss as he is. Not crying like the GGG, his promoter and his fanboys are.

Triple Slow looked like hot garbage. Lil Canelo exposed him to be the massive fraud he is. 24 rounds and couldn't even come close to putting down the blown up jr middleweight red kid. At least Kovalev was able to score the knockdown vs Ward and Lomo was able to stop Linares. Guess not all eastern euro hypejobs are created equal.

Only fought two legit opponents his entire career and now he'll never face another credible threat ever again. Of course he's gonna "rest" and beg for another Canelo cashout instead of risking further exposure.

Thank god this HBO backed ponzi scheme wasn't able to break the ATG B-Hop's record. Just contemplating that made me throw up in my mouth a little.

Time for Triple Slow to retire already and stop holding the middleweight division hostage. 160 will be soooo much more interesting once guys he's been ducking like Charlo, Jacobs, Andrade, Derevyanchenko, Saunders, etc., finally get their chance to shine.

Nah, Canelo beat GGG twice already, he's the better man. Judges screwed him by declaring the first fight a Draw, but they thankfully got it right last night.

I'd be down for a third fight since the first two were so spectacular, but there's no need.

After that Canelo performance, it's doubtful he could beat Canelo, but that seems like a tough fight. Saunders is slick but also won't beat Canelo, in my humble opinion. Both GGG and Canelo should take the rest of the year off and party, 'cos that rematch was brutal.
I think Lemuix and Charlo would be a fun fight! Styles match up good.

                  Lemuix/Charlo
                  Andrade/Sainders
                  Jacobs/Sergiy

He should just retire... The reality is that he shouldn't be having close fights with a fighter like Canelo.
