Golovkin landed 116 power shots - that's hardly a jab show. Canelo took a lot of punishment (as did GGG).

And canelo landed much more especially cleanly and GGG face shows who took more punishment. GGG after all that talking and Mexican style bullshyt was scared to throw body shots the Hallmark of Mexican style and was punked and pushed back all night. He threw well over 500 jabs out of 800 total punches. He fought scared got pushed back refused to commit to the body and canelo landed more power shots inflicting more punishment.

People give Canelo too much credit for the body shots. Compared to the jabs that he was taking, he only landed a few and despite what so many people say, he didn't "back up" Golovkin. Unlike what Canelo did in the first fight, not once did Golovkin back up against the ropes or even looked like he was running. He continued to land numerous jabs and uppercuts while all Canelo could do was just walk forward and settle for a few shots at a time. Sure, Canelo did better than in the first fight but not enough for any honest person to say he beat Golovkin. It was a robbery, plain and simple.

It was a straight up robbery. The only reason it looked closer was because Canelo fought more aggressive (despite the fact it really wasn't all that effective) but the fight wasn't so close to the point where you can't tell who won. It was clearly a Golovkin win and he got robbed of it.

Canelo did not land much more - Golovkin landed more altogether (234 vs. 202), whereas Canelo landed more power shots (143 vs. 116). Contrary to the first fight, Golovkin was landing clean all night (and so was Canelo, and much more frequently than in the first fight).

"Damage" is not something you can quantify easily, unless there are clear signs, like wobbly legs, inability to defend oneself, or (obviously) a knockdown - none of which happened in this fight.

While Canelo did indeed land more powershots, he was the one who appeared somewhat hurt in the later rounds after taking some combinations to the head (though he recovered rather quickly, which was impressive).

All in all, it was a highly competitive, pretty even fight that could have gone either way. People who fail to acknowledge that just make themselves look like imbeciles.
