This is a make-or-break moment for Gingerballs. More controversy and he's ruined his legacy.

I dont think their will be controversy this time or else it will look reslly bad for Canelo.
I think he is a proud guy and win or loose I think he wants it to be a fair and decisive win.
Surely he would feel the shame if he got a b.s decision.

      I disagree.

Since taking up with ODLH, I think that such things no longer matter. Respect, integrity, legacy - these are all things that the pre-ODLH Canelo chased after.

His fans are just marks that he is scrubbing for money. ODLH taught him this, and I don't see it changin while he remains with ODLH. Which he will - because he is scrubbing plenty of money.

You may be right. But still, this is the watershed moment. If he scores a Ward-like TKO, or gets gift decision, there is no going back forever. Like there is still maybe a 5% to 10% chance he could salvage his legacy as a future ATG. If he goes the way we expect it is the final nail.

GGG faces the same pressure. if he loses the narrative will be that he was a fraud feasting on bums. and as soon as he fought top fighters all of a sudden he has no knockouts.

          jacobs was razor close
          canelo 1 was razor close
canelo 2 a decisive loss would be bad for his whole 160 reign.

i'd agree with that. He's already tarnished a bit now from the failed tests and getting gift decisions. The pressure is actually on him to win clearly and do it when clean.

That said, i don't think what happened last year will stop another controversial decision. Golden Boy have absolutely no shame. They even play the victim and get mad when people talked about Canelo's failed tests.

Both need the win, but Canelo needs to redeem himself.

From what I gather a lot of people don't care if it's a legit decision or not they just want ggg to have an official loss. Lots of people on here didnt seem fussed after the first fight

G-String needs a clear win or he's forever an overhyped fraud that at age 36 couldn't accomplish anything.

If he loses or when he loses, I doubt he'd make it into the HOF. Maybe as a second ballot or depends who retires the same year.

If Canelo loses but fights his heart out I think it will go a long way in restoring his reputation. He has to make more of an effort in this fight. That doesn't necessarily mean stand in front of Golovkin and trade punches. It means no more coasting and depending on the judges to fill the gaps in his fighting.
