Haha, Pac won't make money fighting anyone else but him? If he can get the likes of Broner, Porter, Loma, Thurman, M. Garcia, or steal the fight with Brook, he'll be looking at another 8-digit payday easy. If not in December then definitely by April/May. Khan doesn't want any of Brook, and if he thinks he is worth 50% of the purse versus Pac his brains must have turned into oatmeal.

Could it be that since they're countrymen a loss to Brook would hurt him more than a Pacquiao loss?

I'm not saying Khan is actively pursuing Pacquiao thinking that he's going to lose by knockout. But, why does he avoid Brook so much? You know what I mean?
I personally think that he likes his chances vs. Pacquiao more. Brook is his size and Manny is smaller and as far as one punch power, I'd have to say Brook is the harder puncher. Khan is not just looking at money because if he was, he'd be taking the Brook fight which is huge in the UK.

What changed? He even uses Brook's name, who he probably would never fight, to get a better deal with Pac.
But this is typical in any initial negotiation.
Look at Porter. He wants the Spence fight on PPV.
Wilder turned down the AJ fight for an amount 8x his average purse.
Wilder offered 50million, called him out also so many times, i think joshua wins, but you cant buy balls
