Could Samuel Vargas Beat Porter and Garcia Right Now?

Despite one flash knockdown, Vargas was mostly dominated by Khan for the majority of rounds in what was a relatively easy win for Khan all-in-all. The round he knocked Khan down was his best round in the fight but he didn't win that round since Khan knocked him down in the same round too. After that, Khan mainly dominated him thoroughly for the rest of the night.

But Vargas has improved somewhat since his previous performances so how would this current version of Vargas fair against Porter and Garcia. Does he have a legitimate shot at beating them both right now?

Garcia made Vargas look like a popsicle and knocked him OUT!

Khan struggled against Vargas and was on his bike for a good part of the fight..

He was even running away from Vargas lol.

Vargas improved since the Garcia fight, the rematch may be a different.
Khan didn't struggle at all though. Boxed pretty well for the majority of the fight considering his layoff. Not back to his best but even a 70% Khan dominated Vargas easily for most of the rounds. Vargas had a short-lived moment of success with the knockdown and then in one of the later rounds he caught Khan with a good combo but other than that he was dominated thoroughly.

Running away? He had some very nice footwork at times, making Vargas miss and making him pay with counters. Some flashes of boxing greatness from Khan but not a perfect performance by any means. Good to get the 12 rounds in the bank.

Khan looked awful, yea he got the win but that was not suppose to be a super tough fight.

When he stepped on the scales, he looked fleshy, no muscle mass, that has to be the worst condition I have ever seen him in.

He basically had a dad bod, he should get back with Hunter and work on his fitness and putting on some size.

Physique didn't look ripped as before but he went the 12 rounds easily. When you say "Khan looked awful", if you imagine that fight without Khan getting knocked down in one of the rounds, surely you'd agree Khan dominated Vargas. He only "looked awful" in your mind because you're basing everything off of the knockdown, which was one of the very few moments of success Vargas' had in the fight. In reality, Khan was a level above Vargas just like he's supposed to be. It wasn't a perfect performance but he needs to get those rounds in the bank if he's going to get back to 100% after the layoff.

He started to slow down after 6, which is why he was resting on the ropes. Yes he dominated, but he looked vulnerable at times, it's not just the knockdown, Khan was wobbled on 2 occasions.

His fitness and overall conditioning was bad, I read Tony Brady only came in towards the end of the camp. The only time Khan has looked this fleshy was against Canelo, when he tried to eat his way up to the weight.

Also Khan was unbalanced when throwing punches. Overall its right up there with one of his worst performances. Yea he had a long lay off, but he did not look great.

He took a breather after 6 but he got a second win and finished strong. Remember this is a Vargas who had a full 10 week camp to prepare. Proper notice. Against Garcia he only had 5 weeks notice and against Spence only 3. This was a properly prepared Vargas which would probably give Garcia and Spence much more competitive fight in the rematches, given adequate preparation time, and Porter a decent fight too. Khan still dominated him for most of the fight.
