Why doesnt Porter get more credit?

His resume is extremely solid, two close losses that imo could of been draws or porter wins as well.

Doesnt have the best skillset but gets by and competes at the highest level with activity, heart and workrate despite always being the shorter fighter.

I didnt see any headbutts or dirty stuff from porter in his win tonight either.

Yank fanboys suck off ward, yet hes far more boring to watch with his pot shotting and constant clinching.

I think its because he's not seen to have the strongest skill set as you mention. Boxers are almost always seen as better fighters than pressure guys.

But as you bring up he could easily be undefeated with the marks against him being close fights that coulda went his way so you gotta give him some level of respect & credit if you're not just hating on him for no good reason.

I really hate post like this. There are fans who don't give Mayweather, Pac, GGG or Loma credit. That's always how it is for anyone. Porter is not going to escape that reality. However, that doesn't reflect the general consensus. Most fans and major ranking websites have Porter in the top 5 for best welterweight sin the world. I mean, what more do you want? Do u think he should be ranked above Spence and Thurman? Because that wouldn't make any sense for obvious reasons

Nah, i think he’s given credit alright. Had he KOed garcia, this forum would have gone nuts.
It was a good close victory. I’m actually happier with it than the thurman win who rather played it safe most of the fight. These guys gave their all tonight.

He was always a good fighter but ugly.

I saw him beat Devon at Barclays.

I don't know, when Garcia took the 12th I feel that sealed the fight for me in favor of Danny

He's a big action guy. So no matter what love or hate he might get on here, crowds show up for action guys every time. They help the sport tremendously.

I personally am very happy for Showtime and hope he has a long reign. He's fought solid opposition over the years and always gives the fans a good show. Cong**** to Porter!

cause hes got a 2 on his loss column. a lot of people on here wont rate any fighter who doesnt have his 0. ive been saying for a long time how underrated porter is, hes a world class fighter. what i also find bizarre is people who say hes horrible to watch, from where im standing his fights are usually pretty exciting

People don’t appreciate that even good fighters will take a tonne of Ls if they keep pushing themselves to fight the best opponents.

Porter is well in the mix. I hope he is getting paid as well as some of these other guys who aren’t pushing them self as hard as he is
