When Kell Brook was a WW - while the division was deep - he was a token "champion" who only fought Eurobums.

There was:

Floyd
Manny
Tim Bradley
JMM (for a few fights)
Maidana
Shawn Porter/Keith Thurman were just establishing themselves
Kell Brook

In the above list you have 2 ATG fighters, another 2 HOF fighters (in JMM and Bradley) and good, strong fringe contenders in Porter/Thurman/Brook an Maidana.

Again, Kell Brook was never a monster because he edge a C level Porter (Porter is C level - always has been and always will be). Porter has been escalated by the media because he fights at WW - the "glamour" division for a decade or two (Floyd/Manny/DLH/Trinidad, etc.) - and he emerged as a contender immediately following departure of Floyd.

None of Thurman, Danny, or Porter have any chance against Tim Bradley or Maidana, let alone Floyd or Manny.

- JMM KTFO Porter without question...Thurman could potentially beat JMM with his running/boxing tactics since he doesn't engage much
- Maidana bludgeons Porter, Thurman, and Danny
- Bradley outboxes all 3 of them without question

And Kell Brook is on the level of Thurman, Porter, and Danny Garcia (maybe a little better than Danny).

There's a reason Kell never fought a legitimate WW during his ascension...when Floyd, Manny, Tim, Marcos, JMM, and all those guys were active. Hell he needed an order from the WBC (or whichever group it was) to mandate him fight Porter...C level Porter. And that was a very close, ugly fight b/c Porter sucks, holds, headbutts, slaps, humps, and licks you every chance he gets.

To top it off Errol fought the version of Kell Brook that jumped up 2 weight classes, had his eye socket broken which needed surgical repair, and then dropped back down 2 weight classes...and it was E V E N after 8 rounds.

That's terrible. Needed a guy who bulked up in muscle mass 13 pounds...only to drain himself and not be able to lose it (no shit?) to exhaust himself before he could win the fight.
