Danny is actually one of the most overrated fighters in boxing today. He has benefited greatly by getting wins over other overrated guys at, or near the peak of their undeserved hype trains. In particular Khan and Matthysse.

He is underrated.

Ashley Theophane, Nate Campbell, Kendall Holt, Érik Morales, Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Lucas Matthysse, Mauricio Herrera (I thought he lost), Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi, Robert Guerrero, Keith Thurman, Brandon Ríos & Shawn Porter.

Peterson: Lost, but I don’t hold it against him because Peterson is on roids.

Malignaggi: old

Guerrero: old

Thurman: lost

Rios: Washed up, never that great.

-- Matthysse and Thurman (forced by his handlers)...
-- Porter (forced by WBC)...

And the most important thing about it is that he won! Everything else is irrelevant, whether he was force to or not.

lets be fair here;
Khan beat Maidania, almost knocked his arse out in the 1st round & we all know Maidana beat Floyd the 1st fight.
And 1 year prior to Morales facing Danny, He lost a majority desicion to Maidana. All this happen 3 years before Maidana fought Floyd. Lucas may be overated now that he is older, but back then he was the boogeyman!

While fundamentally sound, Danny seems to lack passion for his craft or the sport of boxing in general and that turns off a lot of people. I think he is much better than people have given him credit for, including me. A decisive win or knockout against Porter could help change that perception.

Only in boxing can you be among the absolute best in the world, and the perception of you be "lacking passion" lol. The amount of dedication required to be at that level is beyond what most people can comprehend, especially when it's compounded by armchair guys critiquing everything you've done, and saying "Rod Salka" to all of your accomplishments. I'd probably behave like Garcia as well.

To reach the level that Danny has reached...many fighters could only dream of getting. I must admit that the only thing that fighters now a days have harder than fighters of the past...is that they have to deal with all the negative crap on social media that keyboard warriors write about them. The guys I train, I just tell them stay away from social media, that no matter what they accomplish someone is always gonna $hett on their accomplishments.

Garcia behaves like Garcia because he's a paycheck player, that's just who he is. He fights for the down-payment on apartments, subway sandwich shops and next investment. To that I say great, good business but lets not make believe he has any intent to be great at BOXING because that's nonsense and the public sees right through him. All boxers want too make money and some want to be the best, Danny just isn't one of them and it shows.
