While fundamentally sound, Danny seems to lack passion for his craft or the sport of boxing in general and that turns off a lot of people. I think he is much better than people have given him credit for, including me. A decisive win or knockout against Porter could help change that perception.

Captain F#cking Obvious wrote that article I assume.

The Garcia's have made it known they'll take max money for the easiest fight they can get. I still remember when Danny coulda been among the guys Floyd was handing big checks to a couple years back now & Danny seemed completely disinterested in that fight & iirc said directly he didn't want that fight. So yea no sh^t Danny has no interest in going big with boxing. Its work to him, not a chasing greatness thing.

And thats not even to dog him per se, thats just how he & his father seem to look at his boxing career which isn't an attitude that will endure him to many fans. It will make him some nice cash at the least risk possible in this game & if I was a professional boxer I might have the same outlook honestly cuz no one is gonna give a f#ck about you to help you out once you retire if things go south.
I'm also surprised he didn't push for the Broner fight! Garcia vs. Broner would've done very well at the Barclay's!

Danny doesn't do all that rah rah hyping himself up stuff like the other fighters. That's why he's doesn't get the credit he deserves. Not flashy. Just a blue collar type of kid.

That's not true. Danny's resume shets all over people like porter, lil g, lomo & Bud so that's mute Plus he & his Father have said they would fight Floyd if Floyd gave them the chance. DSG has also fought Robert Guerrero a fighter Floyd has fought.

Danny is actually one of the most overrated fighters in boxing today. He has benefited greatly by getting wins over other overrated guys at, or near the peak of their undeserved hype trains. In particular Khan and Matthysse.

                    -- Porter (forced by WBC)...
He wasn't "forced" to....LOL....He has a better resume than almost everyone boxing right now.

Ashley Theophane, Nate Campbell, Kendall Holt, Érik Morales, Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Lucas Matthysse, Mauricio Herrera (I thought he lost), Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi, Robert Guerrero, Keith Thurman, Brandon Ríos & Shawn Porter.

Seems fundamentally sound to me with some passion behind it.

"Danny's a counterpuncher, Danny has nice boxing movement when he wants to be evasive. He's underrated when on his back foot. We saw that against (Lucas) Matthysse and (Brandon) Rios."-Keith Thurman.
