Unless Porter has completely re-tooled his style I have a lot of trouble buying that.

I've always kinda felt Porter never lost his amateur style all the way with the energy with which he fights. Its been adjusted for the pro game, but it feels sorta amateur-ish just with more aggression then they'll let you get away with in the amateurs. But that level of intensity has done him solid in getting him where its gotten him, but the more talented of guys with more technical skill then him will more often then not beat him I feel like.

Thats why I feel while able to make this fight competitive he'll ultimately come up short this weekend. Looking forward to it either way doe.

Porter AND Garcia are good former champs but are also chumps. They both clearly did not want to fight Spence. Talk is cheap now when a fight is ahead of them.

Also I see Shawn finally has the courage to at least speak ESJ and Crawford's name. Rather than him saying "I don't think I'm even in the rankings no more" excuse he used a while back lol

Garcia is the more poised professional athlete of the two, while Porters certfied wildness dies down around the 8th 9th rounds, eventually becoming more hittable. Garcia should win it, but how he reacts to the wild head swingin' whirlwind remains to be seen.

This could end up a stinker with the referee doing most of the work peeling Porter off Garcia. If Porters pops could throw in more fundamentals with his sons adrenaline style he'd have a great fighter on his hands.....

Instead, he mistakes his sons up tempo aggression as whats more important. I can imagine his father yelling instructions during training, "thats it, thats it, swing, swing, swing - go forward - swing, swing, jab, swing, duck swing. Don't forget son, when youre in a forced clinch - hold on - grab!!.....I love you boy....swing....."

Shawn isn't going to magically learn how to box. He's going to bully Garcia. Crawford will make him look silly if he tries that. Spence would not only be able to bully him back, but he'd box circles around him as well.

Porter built his whole style on just pushing forward. His body is going to start aging soon and he'll have nothing to fall back on, style wise.
