He didn't take the catchweight because he didn't have to. It's the champions perogative and in the rules to fight at the middleweight division limit. After 30 its very hard for a fighter to drop weight.

Damn don't make him cry! Fact is GGG dog shyt resume is nobody fault but his own. Stayed at 160 to fight bums while killing bigger and better fights for his legacy over weight and money demands. He's a flaming hypocrite. Remember I'll go to 154 or 168 for a big fight? Ducked ward demanded a catch-weight then turned around and killed a Cotto fight and delayed the canelo fight because he refused to drop below 160 or any catch-weight. Called canelo, Cotto, Floyd divas and said I'm not a businessman. Called out canelo for fighting guys too small then turns around and drags a small Brook up 2 weight class over business. Says all he cares about is belts. Backed out of fights for saunders belt multiple times and choose a bum vanes after he was told if you fight him you will be stripped he fight him anyone. Ducked his mandatory. All because he was a businessman

Meanwhile Canelo has dropped weight to make Floyd fight, gave up weight going to 160 to fight GGG. Gave up A side money to Cotto even after he surpassed him as the money draw just to make that fight. Gave up money to the B side GGG just to make the rematch in Sept so he could break GGG face for all the shyt talking. Canelo at 28 way better career and resume runs to challenges and taken risks like other greats like Floyd, Manny, Oscar to become the cash cow.
