Canelo doesn't need a knockout. He has the skill to box
his way to victory. Oscar is just wearing his promoter's hat

That doesn't sound like he had 'two judges in his pocket'.

So they decided to pay a judge to score in their favor,
but the judge wanted too much, so all they could afford
was to buy an even scorecard? Sounds reasonable to me.

But it's extra unreasonable to assume they greased one
judge's pocket in order to receive a draw from that judge.

They could have a least bought a split decision if they were
actually paying a judge to score in Canelo's favor.

who knows, the fight was such a bloody lopside, that maybe they just paid for a certain amount of rounds? or just didnt want to make it look like a blowout

pretty sure one of the other judges only gave it to Floyd by like 115-113 also.

They were probably giving Canelo credit for punches that
did not quite land, or for punches that Mayweather caught on his arms.
They also probably produced close scorecards
because they favored Canelo's aggression, even if it was
ineffective. That could also possibly explain why so many
people scored the Canelo-Golovkin fight for Golovkin, even
though he was not overly effective. Some people didn't like
Mayweather simply because of his defensive style, and it's
no different for Canelo as he adopts similar techniques.
