Because he looks the part. He has sponsorship with maximuscle, he's good looking (sort of), has a great physique and behind Gorman and Dubois he is the only prospect Frank Warren has who might be marketable. He seems a nice guy and his team certainly like to act like they're hot ****.

The problem is nobody is falling for that crap. It worked with Anthony Joshua because he took risks and fought the top competition. People recognised that and became fans. He fought Whyte.

Yarde refuses to fight Buglioni, Johnson, Buatsi or Buglioni even at this stage of his career. Nobody is going to get behind him and I fear the damage to his reputation is already done.

      Exactly.

Hearn has offered them all but Frank says he should be putting his guys against each other (which he has done) and then the winner fights Yarde.

Buatsi would wipe the floor with him and Frank knows that.

‘When the time is right’ = when WBO vacant belt is up for grabs against limited opposition.

Hes doing a Hatton. Dont get me wrong, i liked Ricky, but he seemed to have a thousand WBU defences against very inferior opposition before they threw him to the wolves. I think the Yarde plan will be the same.

Then you would have another fighter who has done it the hard way, in a short space of time getting abuse for taking more risk than this guy.

If you would not even entertain the idea of fighting Buatsi at this stage of your career then i can't get behind a fighter like this. Saying am going to "take my time" isn't honesty to me, you can take your time to fight someone like Kovalev but not domestic level fighters at your real weight.
Funny enough i just said the same in my last reply. Hes following the Hatton Warren template. He is marketable looking, hes got a decent social media following, but the hype is abit irritating. The "lions in the camp" stuff is well overdone for someone who hasn't fought anyone yet. I mean, i can see them building up him vs Buatsi, but not why he couldn't have faced the very beatable Buglioni by now. Its true what you say, it kind of makes you resent a guy abit, to know hes getting way more props than he deserves compared to other fighters, but i guess it is a business. Looking the part seems to matter at least as much as being the part nowadays. I dont think hes without potential, but the guys already appearing in adverts. Good luck to him, but i dont get excited about hes fights atm.

He's being well managed, and at no.2 is there or thereabouts for Frank to get him a mandatory shot with the beloved WBO.
He is the WBO European Champion.
He is the WBO Inter-continental Champion.

Have some damn respect for the champion of Europe.

How he's managed from here I don't know, Eleider Alvarez would beat him I think so.... in a weird way hope for Kovalev to win the rematch and wait it out instead of a risky domestic fight with Buatsi might as well fight for a world title against a hopefully faded Kovalev with some BT money.

I can't see Kovalev winning the rematch with Alvarez though
