Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia Confirms He'll Eventually Go To 154 For More Gold

Although his pending plan is to ascend to 154 pounds with a view to adding a fifth world title in his third weight class, Danny 'Swift' Garcia aspires this Saturday to secure another world title at 147 pounds. To achieve this, Garcia will face Shawn Porter at the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn for the vacant welterweight belt of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

If hes avoiding spence then theres no way he goes to 154. Who could he even beat? Unless its another "wbc tournament" and he fights a 154 version of robert guerrero for the vacant belt

Lets see how he handles Porter's strength & bull-like style
before he starts talking about fighting even bigger guys.

He should be fine at 154. Start off with Austin Trout and/or Liam Smith. By then Charlo and Hurd should be at 160.

Then the big fights for him at 154 would be against Julian Williams, Jaime Munguia, and probably Errol Spence.

Danny Garcia would be crushed in 154. 147 should be his MAX weight. He's 5'8 1/2, he's not the biggest Welterweight, he's the same size as Crawford.

Of course he plans on moving up he don't wana lock horns with Crawford or Spence,, DSG would rather lose to a bigger fighter at 154.

I like Trout to box Danny and beat him.

Smith is a 50/50 fight. He's underrated and Danny is, as usual, overrated.

Mungoia, Charlo, Hurd, and the crop destroy lil Danny. And I'm a Philly guy
