A deal is great but for the long term health of the sport there needs more after a deal. For instance the fact that top rank wont work with pbc will actually work in the advantage of the sport when spence vs Crawford happens. It would have built so much hype that it will make huge money. FOX and ESPN are happy. But what happens when you cant rely on those two how do you keep boxing on the up. WE NEED CONSISTANCY AND BOTTOM LINE IN SIMILAR TO THE UFC

on this joint account and on my previous original zero account i made it very clear pbc would get these level of deals. haymon has now been vindicated in every way and hbo boxing will fold when canelo winds down.
Oh ok. I just found that old topic and the only thing he had right was PBC and FOX having a deal. The other claims he was making were outrageous.

Yea HBO blew it when they kicked Haymon off their channel. I still can't believe people in the media were saying that was a good thing and bragging about it.

In fact its not built a single superstar, not one in all the years its been running.
Yeah I don't see how this new fox deal will change anything. Haymon had his big names fight on network TV before and it didn't do much for their careers. I remember Wilder on Fox and NBC fighting cans like Duhaumpas and Washginton in non competitive fights. Hopefully FOX will exert some quality control this time and force Haymon to make good matchups. You also make a good point about UFC. UFC is pretty synonymous with MMA here in America. To the casual sports fan UFC basically is MMA. PBC doesn't have that with boxing.

Hope they do something with it. I'm excited by the concept of boxing on network TV but have only seen a handful of fights I care about play on free TV in the past year. I was patient while they were "building stars" but it's long past time for them to start throwing leather with each other.

The article didn't talk about it but supposedly there's suppose to also be shoulder programming. And now Fox is invested in making sure PBC gets good ratings instead of just taking their money and putting them on TV. Now they'll have better lead in shows. It'll come on right after a high rated television show so they can retain some of that audience. And also more advertising.
