I hear you about his inactivity, and tbh, it pisses me off as well that he won't even come out and announce when he plans to return. However, his inactivity doesn't change what's on his resume. And to be fair, it's not like Spence and Crawford have been all that active since they became champs either. Spence only fought once in 2017, but none of his fans talk about that.

Sure, he's fought twice this year, but none of those fights were exactly against stellar opposition (and don't give me Lamont Peterson, he's hardly proven at WW). And has Spence said yet when he plans to be back in the ring? Heck, we don't even know if he intends to take on M. Garcia's challenge next or not. Not to mention he seems hell bent on putting off the Crawford fight.

And speaking of Crawford, who I admit has won me over as a fan, he's only fought once so far this year as well, and doesn't appear to be too eager to get into the ring anytime soon either. I follow him on Twitter, and he seems to be perfectly comfortable resting on his laurels since he won that WBO title.

What had Lamont done at welterweight when he fought Spence?

Tell us what Garcia did when he fought Thurman, I mean, besides fighting a guy Spence KOd as a prospect.

Also stop acting like Thurman has some glamorous resume.

The best guy he fought at welterweight (Porter) was beaten at his own home by the Guy Spence stopped in his own home (Brook).

Garcia went life and Death with Lamont and many people felt that Garcia lost that fight.

So you have Garcia who is >=< Lamont Peterson and Porter who is > Kell Brook and yet you claim that Thurman has this so much better resume than Spence when it is arguable if it is even better at all than Spence's resume.

Thurman beat both of them, but he is not relevant because he is inactive ex fighter.

So he shouldnt break down a fight against two noxers he beat himself? Lol. If he decides to get back,and is healthy he also beats them,again if need be. He is a guy thats right in the Crawford, Spence, zone. And its certainly not a given that he would lose to either.

He should have been stripped of all belts after this much time. He has refused to fight Spence and used an injury for an excuse. Floating bits of cartilage like he said he had is arthoscopic surgery, and fast recovery time...2-3 months tops, but many much faster than that.

Refused ? An official offer was never made. One Time is not irrelevant. Now if he sits off until 2019 then we can open the door to maybe saying he should hang it up. Personally I don't think he really cares to fight anymore Keith is a different type of person kinds like Ricky Williams. He is a millionaire some ppl work to live and others live to work. I think he is ok with his life.

Good assessment, I'd have to agree. Winner of Garcia vs Porter could change this a tiny bit, but not much.

If Keith is out much longer and Spence or Crawford fight eachother or one of them takes Porter or Garcia's scalp I'd have to place them ahead of Keith. Until they do that, Keith is still #1.

Once he's out for 2 years I'll just drop him from my rankings completely though.

I'm 100% in agreement with you. If there is not Thurman fight on the horizon....then it's on to the next. It's a shame considering he beat two top dogs in the division.

I'm just glad to hear from Thurman, he will always one of my favorite fighters from this era, the way he breaks down the fight shows how much he learned from fighting them.
