I wasn't impressed with Jack's performance against Stevenson at all. In fact i've never thought he was that good period. He let that old man outwork him for the first 5-6 rounds and then when he actually turned it up it was too late. Bivol would KO him and Alvarez could take him out as well.Comment

Post-Chilemba, you mean. Some would even say post-Pascal (the rumor was he was out of the shape for the first fight, then trained better for the rematch before, evidently, going back to not training well again from then on). Kovalev was already gassing badly before he ever fought Ward. Why do you think Ward finally agreed to fight Kovalev when no one thought he would? They knew what we didn't, he was already on a steep decline due to his lifestyle and training habits.Comment

Hopefully Badou Jack stops ducking Bivol. Bivol was the mandatory, Jack wouldn't fight him. Now Jack is the mandatory, Bivol still wants to fight him, will Jack step up this time?Comment

There's a reason Jack started so cautiously in that fight - he was wary of Stevenson's immense one punch power. I like Jack but I also respect Stevenson as a world class fighter - you sound like you're one of those who refuses to give Stevenson any credit whatsoever because you don't like him. He may have had an uninspiring run of defences, but you don't get to be WBC 175lb champion with one defeat if you're not a good fighter. He hurt Jack to the body several times in that fight. If Jack attacked him early he could have walked into a big counter shot, as Chad Dawson did.I was disappointed in Jacks performance against the no backbone, no ambition, Stevenson - I would have like Badou to step back from those inside wrangles and just unload with some combinations, but it seemed Stevenson was too awkward for him, and he didn't really seem himself.
I hope Gvozdyk decapitates Duckinson - he's a waste of space, and with him out of the picture we have a real healthy looking 175-pound division.
I'd put Jack in with Smith Jr at this point - a fight with enough risk, but a fight he can win, and gain some more confidence - Alvarez is a big, imposing LHW. Tough job putting that guy down.Comment
