Hearn signed Ortiz to put him out there against scrubs to look good so he could sell the Joshua fight. Ortiz failed in a massive way.

You think Hearn wants to keep that bum Miller away from Joshua? For what reason? Joshua would smash that fatty to bits.

Miller kisses Hearns ass when he is next to him. Talks s**t when Hearn isn't around.

        Isn't povetkin the mandatory?
I give hearn the fault for not making the wilder fight, but after that fight didnt work out he had to face povetkin.

Before that he unified against parker, there was no real window for joshua to fight miller, who is a nobody and doesnt even have a top 10 win on his record.

Miller is right though, Hearn shouldn't have used Miller or Wilder's name to promote AJ when Povetkin was the plan all along. Months ago Hearn was saying "AJ vs Miller at Barclays"

that was all contingent on miller acting right and not saying and doing stupid stuff. his antics got him booted from ringside commentary and some good publicity at the whyte-parker fight, and now he's probably upset. also, no one used his name. he rightfully and correctly inserted his name in the conversation, but then followed up with wilder-esque sillyness.

and then he keeps saying stupid stuff. and what's more, he isn't even willing to fight whyte. he'll get his two fights and probably regret all he's been saying.

"Hearn told BoxingScene.com before a press conference Tuesday that if Miller (20-0-1, 18 KOs) defeats France’s Johann Duhaupas (37-4, 24 KOs) on April 28 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, he’ll get a shot at heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in his following fight. Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, called Miller-Duhaupas “a 50-50-fight” and stressed that neither he nor Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) are underestimating Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) ahead of the Joshua-Parker heavyweight title unification match March 31 in Cardiff, Wales."

Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't.

But it's promoter 101 when you have the big cash cow to keep them away from the big punchers. Wilder, Ortiz, Miller etc are the kind of guys you would try to keep AJ away from if you're a competent promoter.

I don't rate Miller all that highly, but it does seem that Hearn's not pushing him particularly hard right now. Eddie needs to be careful, if Miller decides he's had enough and ditches Hearn and DAZN after just two fights then it's a big blow to his plans and his reputation. It'll rankle in the minds of any big-name fighter considering signing up.

Miller is one of what? three Americans that singed with Dazn? If he leaves after his second fight it will look bad.

how about you post the actual interview on for context?

hearn said he had to put on a great show and he would be right there to get his shot. again, this was all subject to the whole wilder/mandatory fight being next. but then he got silly and started spouting stuff off. he ruined his chances. everyone wants a shot at joshua. he was very near the top of the list before his antics.
