Byrd got it wrong, I did not see the fight unfold that way..... but she is not corrupt, and she did not receive a payout..... that kind of talk is nonsense..... I fully accept her explanation for her SLIGHTLY skewed scorecard

1) a fight will have a range of acceptable scores, depending on what a particular judge saw, and depending on how they view that particular match-up..... and that range of scores can differ significantly..... there are hundreds of examples throughout history proving that

2) Byrd is old-school..... in a match-up with a boxer vs a pressure fighter, Byrd automatically scores for the boxer unless the pressure fighter is being effective, and the reason why is simple and obvious..... if the pressure fighter is ineffective, the reason for that is either ring-generalship or defence, BOTH of which are valid scoring criteria

Byrd saw Golovkin being largely ineffective for most of that fight

the thing is (imho) she spent too much time watching one fighter only..... I agree with her methodology 100%, because the only alternative is the shockingly amateur (dumb-cvnt) viewpoint of blindly scoring for the guy moving forward..... which is ******ity that was introduced/encouraged by TV networks back in the 70's/80's to encourage more "fan-friendly" fights in order to improve ratings

any rule/viewpoint, that forces a fighter to change his style, is ABSURD to the umpteenth degree..... and I certainly hope I do not need to debate that with some of the casuals who will be reading this post..... fk catering for casual fans who are more entertained by barroom brawling than the sweet science

I agree with her methodology, no question..... because I saw the same thing for large periods..... but I did not see Canelo sweep rounds like she did, imho she spent too much time watching Canelo

I have no problem with anyone who saw Canelo edge a very close fight..... scores of 9-3 either way should not be taken too seriously, and 90% of Golovkin fans saw it that way, so they are no more credible than Byrd in my book

at least Byrd remembered that Ring Generalship and DEFENSE are valid scoring criteria..... unlike the casuals..... but yea, she got it wrong

Who would forget this is the same Sulaiman who had been threatening to take Canelo's belt for refusing to fight Golovkin way back when he beat Cotto? Saul was forced to surrender his belt, probably to Sulaiman's surprise.
