Comments Thread For: Kownacki: If I Beat Charles Martin, I Deserve A Title Shot

Adam Kownacki considers his technical-knockout victory over Artur Szpilka last summer as the win that legitimized him as a heavyweight contender. Kownacki thinks beating Charles Martin on Saturday night should lead him to a world title shot. Martin is a former IBF heavyweight champion who has lost only to Anthony Joshua, but he hasn't fought a ranked opponent since Joshua knocked him out in the second round of their April 2016 fight at O2 Arena in London.

He offered him a DAZN deal, chose to stick with PBC and get in the WBC queue. Look how well that worked out for Breazeale

If either Wilder or Joshua was to have a voluntary against Kownacki, we'd all be complaining they are a fighting bums. So no, he doesn't deserve a title shot. Really got to fight top 5 contenders before you can argue you have earned a shot. And then getting one; get in the queue.

No one gets an eliminator for fighting Ortiz unfortunately. Would be a good fight for him though.

I guess by his logic if he beats a guy that only loss came to Anthony Joshua he should get a title shot??? That makes sense in his mind but not in the minds of the boxing public unfortunately lol haha
